I can imagine @Gareth Halfacree publishing an article in about 17 seconds if it had been legit ^^

I was half tempted to write it up anyway, given the comments on the page with people saying they'd happily buy Eau du Chris Roberts...

Do RSI disclose how much funding they receive every month/year?

I'd be interested to know if they have (or are close to) reached the point where development costs out-weigh backing income.

I'm pretty sure they do disclose these numbers, although I'm not sure how much of a lag there is.

In terms of whether money raised outweighs money spent, I think that at the last count (end of 2017 disclosures iirc) they had about £14m in the kitty.

In fact, here's the link (from a couple of pages back) https://cloudimperiumgames.com/blog/corporate/cfo-comment-2012-2017-financials. Doesn't include any monies raised/spent in 2018, or the $46m they brought in from private investment last year.

PTU duration has been extended to May 5th, but may not need that long. On the other hand, the 3.5 PTU is now open to all backers.

EDIT: The PTU can be run in Linux by switching Lutris to use "WineHQ 4.6 Staging" version of WINE.

    There's also this:
    That was six years ago...

But, hey, we're up to version 3.5 now!

Because they quietly drop the "0.0." from the front of the alpha releases...

Last I heard, this may get released in 2050. By that time, it will look like a game from the ZX Spectrum days...

It's going to be an almighty **** show for the games industry if they do end up running out of money... Especially if more and more people start winning refunds.

Considering the budget of AAA games can easily reach several hundred million dollars and Star Citizen has ambitions that go far beyond those of AAA games like CoD... seems like inevitable that money will run out unless they pull an Everquest (release what they have, then sell expansions on a regular basis for years to come).

I cannot believe people still put money in to this.

Personally now I don't think this will ever get released, and will just be left in the state it's in, in around 8 months time.

I give it 2 months before they come out with another "buy a plot of land on a planet" scam as I would call it because I honestly do not believe they will ever deliver it.

Reading that Forbes article, this game will never see the light of day with that megalomaniac micro manager Roberts at the helm.
Comes across as a right twot.
