I wonder if I could obtain one through bit-tech. To review of course and 100% not to go into the boot of my car
Well, if you're going to review the Ncase, you'd better also get a slightly older Ncase. And a Ghost, and a Dancase, and...... Quite the scheme you've got there
Ok decided on Dan case, what's the point of having it if I don't use if for my main rig? Ncase will house my second backup rig for now (basically the current rig), though I'll need to find the rest of my Pico PSU for it. Can't find the brick to board connector.. I have wayyyyy to much. Stuff. Heat sink arrives today so I have all my parts to get building
90% built. Have taken some pics along the way which I'll share. Left to do: Swap the 1050 for the 1070 and route the power cable Pop in the 1tb data drive Activate windows (old technet 8.1 key that was upgraded to 10, had it tied to my MS account but it won't let me move it) Adjust ram timings, currently using spd so it's running at 2133
Master of Cramming! GTX 1070 sounds great, I look forward to hearing more on this and seeing some pics.
Epic fail, here is pics. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1-OxvlDE-i-pI9xu_FueMPimNVnHMRmq1 So far machine is running ok, load temps of Under 60 on the cpu playing TD2, however the vrms are hot, 70. Gpu is nice and cool. The Dan case doesn't have much airflow given the chambers and lack of chassis fans, may have to go back to the ncase...
I did wonder about airflow with the Dan, but I have no experience of the case so wasnt sure. It was definitely on my mind when choosing my M1, but availability at the time killed it and the DA2 as viable options.
The Ncase definitely has the beating of the Dan when it comes to CPU cooling. Both great cases, of course, with different benefits and compromises.
You could probably do some clever things to remedy this - DIY ducting is an option, or you could always undervolt/underclock your components. Power usage ought to drop off much much faster than performance. There are always compromises for SFF!
Yeah if it was CPU or the video card producing the heat I would have looked at undercoating. I've upped the fancurve on the cpu fan to see if that helps to push around the case or not.
There is a new CLC thats been made by asetek with the dan case in mind. Let me see if I can find you a link. Linky: https://www.asetek.com/newsroom/press-releases/2019/asetek-introduces-645lt/ I think I saw someone use an additional fan with a CLC to help air flow over the board.
Me neither. I don't care what colour my fans are, but even if I did, I don't think the Noctua colour scheme is bad at all.
No, no, no - I got that - it wasn't directed at you. Your quip just encouraged me to unburden myself on the matter in general.
