It highlights what a nutache it can be to transport livestock even when the borders are 'open'... adding additional barriers and things go to **** for british farmers very quickly.

the BSE thing also comes into play when the brexiters start on about 'oh we'll just trade with the rest of the world'... uk beef farmers would love to, but even though the outright bans have been lifted most countries look at 'British Beef' and go 'we'll pass thanks'...

And now over to the leavers interpretation of that vote:

During Indicative Votes Round 1 No deal was defeated by a margin of 240, today no deal won by 11, so in just 2 months there has been a 251 vote swing towards the promised land of no deal.

What I'm saying is that whatever choice is made, it is the mother and baby who carry the consequences. So it should be up to the mother to decide.

 

I think what Corky42 was getting at is that the generally hostile attitude towards kids particularly those from less fortunate backgrounds may well influence her decision.

 

Strictly speaking they didn't vote 'for' no deal, they voted against being the ones on charge. Parliament just voted against running the country, which sounds about right based on the last 3 years.

 

Corbyn would have probably just hidden in his allotment on the 25th any way if it had passed.

On another note:
Why are leavers so happy that the vote didn't pass?

Assuming you want the muppets in Westminster to deliver on the result of the advisory referendum...

Why would you then be happy that Parliament ceded control to f**k knows with about two weeks worth of sitting days left?

And why would you be happy that they are enabling no deal when elected officials in theory have a duty of care towards their constituents which means that not doing everything in their power to choose the least damaging Brexit amounts to dereliction of duty?

 

Leavers just want to leave. They think a no-deal Brexit will work out just fine.

I've not come across a leave supporter yet who dedicates much time to thinking, it seems to be mostly about what feels right and defeating that vote felt like the right think to do, i suspect they've not considered the potential consequences, it's very much a we'll cross that bridge when we come to it sort of way of doing things.

 

Problem: You don't like going to the dentist.
Option 1: A Lifetime of proper dental hygiene
Option 2: Fall on a hammer, mouth first

Sure, option 2 technically "solves" the problem... but that doesn't mean the result is in any shape or form preferable to the result of option 1.

 

Option 3: Do nothing and deal with the extricating pain when 10-20 years later you get abscess' and your teeth start falling out.

That's basically the orthodontic equivalent of Brexit.

I mean, for the sake of not seeing the UK on fire from here, I hope the trend doesn't continue - But the fact that he's popular at all is just terrifying. The man can't tame his hair, or his mouth, how can he possibly be believed in for anything other than comic relief?
