Anyone on this forum who didn't read Snow Crash should just quietly log out and delete their membership.

I mean, we're all geeks here.

Or if history is any indication... society will pretend those people drowning in the Mediterranean Streets of Hull aren't really human and deny responsibility for them after having sold the bombs caused the rising sea levels that drove them from their homes.

Of course that'll only work for so long, unfortunately that is unlikely to stop us from trying.

That's both depressing and not entirely surprising.

That just shows you that former UKIPpers joining the Tory party membership have eaten the party from within, more than happy to see it destroyed.

    Party and power first.

Even though they'd rather see the Conservative party being destroyed they feel the threat to the party is much higher if they don't deliver Brexit.

They'll burn their house down, so long as there's a chance the EU/Immigrants/Corbyn/etc... will get a mild cough from the smoke...

Brexiters are upset now already that it has taken three years (and counting) to remove a couple decades of minor integration between the UK and EU...

But they would be happy to put up with the decades of political chaos to remove centuries of near total integration between Scotland - UK / NI - UK?

Somehow I get the gut feeling they really didn't think that one through.

...except the integration between Scotland/NI and England is nowhere near 'near total'. Wales and England... possibly... the other 2, nope.

I was wondering if those polling results now show that the Conservative party are what would be considered an extremist organisation, i know some far-right organisations have been banned in the UK but how many similarities are there between that polling and the reasons given for banning those far-right groups?

I would guess it's something to do with violence but even though Farage isn't a Conservative member hasn't he advocated violence, hasn't Mark Francois has made threats of violence and maybe other members.

Johnson's plan is evidently to try May's plan again -

Trying to box through the May WA is by far the easiest way out for Bojo (regardless if the EU makes any concessions to him or not).

    His options:

1: If he flip flopped to remain he would basically be providing the ERG the knives to plunge into his back.

2: If he tried to scrap most or all the May WA he wouldn't really be any better off than in 1, as he would then have to convince the EU to start the negotiations over from scratch, which would include him having to explain to the ERG and co why he is on his knees begging the EU for a long extension.

3: Hey ho off the No deal cliff we go, his career would be toast once the consequences pile up, plus there is the "small" matter of UK Parliament.

4: Try to box through the May WA, given how weak Labour is he could probably even afford to call a GE in order to change the parliamentary arithmetic in his favour if necessary and if he stalls long enough in the 2nd part of the negotiations he could even last a full term as PM without having to provide a real answer about said future relationship.

So it is the "sensible" thing for him to blow some smoke up everyones butt about how he is going to deliver on the Malthouse compromise, then say sorry shortly before the deadline and ask them to pass the May WA.

Besides it being yet another moronic thing for him to say we've already had two this century.
