Probably the best balanced premium X570 board in terms of features / looks / price...
and as a bonus the chipset heatsink should be easy to replace with an aftermarket part.

 

Not what you expect for £380 - 4 USB 2.0 ports.

 

Given that there are headers for 4 more USB 2 ports and plenty of USB 3.x provision, what is the problem?

 

Didn't say there was a problem, just not what I expect to see in this day and age for not a cheap board.

 

It gets even worse when you go up in price, the £600 Asus ROG and £750 MSI Godlike only have 2x USB 2.0 ports.

 

Really not thrilled by the idea of a noise sensor (microphone) on the board - nothing to hide but no reason to add another security / privacy "feature".
EEC memory support is what I'm actually looking for.

 

It's a motherboard and CPU feature. True, Ryzen support ECC memory, like most processors from AMD, but all that means nothing if the motherboard doesn't support it. To do that, not only does the UEFI need the necessary settings, but the motherboard needs the necessary traces from the CPU to the memory modules.

 

Actually, most X570 boards apparently support it, as do a large amount of Xx70 and Bx50 boards. People often talk about the ASRock X470 Taichi as a good example.
