    Hello,

I've got a small form factor Lenovo pc here with 4gb ram and I'd like to add more. The memory installed is 1.35v DDR3-L. There's not a lot out there in the way of 1.35v DDR3 so I'd like to find out if the system will run a 1.5v module. Lenovo support isn't any help and searching online doesn't really find an answer.

So, if anyone here knows the answer that would be great. Thanks.

A model number might help, but if it's designed for DDR3L then DDR3 likely won't work.

Not sure what you mean by 1.35V DDR3L being hard to find, though: plenty of it on Amazon.

I can find some of it on eBay. When I did a search on the usual suppliers websites there wasn't much on it. Knowing it's DDR3L installed, it's my instinct to use the same, but there's plenty more choice from DDR3.

As I say, if it's designed for use with DDR3L then DDR3 won't work. If it's designed for use with DDR3L or DDR3, then DDR3 will work so long as you remove the existing DDR3L.

Without a model number, there's no way to know. "Small form factor Lenovo PC" covers about a bazillion different products from the last decade or so...

It's an M2929 from the M82 series, but even I couldn't find out using the Lenovo support site. So no idea what the board is 'designed' to use.

It sounds to me like DDR3 should work fine - but, like I say, you'll have to pull the existing DDR3L. No guarantees, though, but Crucial reckons DDR3 will work fine, too so long as it's 1.35V. 1.5V, though, doesn't look like it'll work.

I managed to find some DDR3L, I got a good price for some Kingston ram, two 8gb modules which work fine with my existing 4gb. So I've got 12gb in this i3 3220 and it has made the world of difference.
