I just have one question : considering all the precision and efforts you put on making this copper res, the steel rad grills, the acrylic wire-channel... why did you choose to build the case from MDF that you will cover with oak veneer, instead of directly build it in solid oak ?
Ow. I wasn't going to say it first, but a lot of us would have preferred you use something like basswood under the veneer. MDF isn't worthy of your great work.
Thank you so much Eh guys...for the MDF speech I started to make it some time ago with the idea of doing so in order to have the possibility to cut, paste, stucco considering that the shapes and dimensions were not well defined ... I wanted to have the possibility of changes in progress and the MDF gives me this possibility, then to say now to do it in wood I would probably do it too, now that I have much clearer ideas. That's Fair. I have a lot of experience in home repair and have seen MDF swell and ruin from water. That's one of my big worries here. On our side, looks are all that matter, and I'm sure it will be incredible. On your side, we hope for longevity of your art.
New up ... Pumps and tank support: I placed the pumps on the sides of the tank so as to have a clean and symmetrical arrangement. I always showed the tank leaning on the wood but in reality it will be fixed and held suspended with a copper support. The nipples for the threaded holes is like saying, "I could've used MORE copper." You know a project is going to be obscenely awesome when they use $40+ of copper for a bracket.

These are the "leftovers" the result of wrong measurements, tests, and not exactly correct curves. I had to make two more holes to fill the tanks. Sorry if the caps are different but at the moment I only have these. And here it is all assembled ... I am not telling you the satisfaction of seeing him repay me for the sweat paid up to now. You will have noticed that in the tank there are two transparent tubes inside the tanks that cross them to connect two fittings at the bottom with two at the top. For aesthetic reasons, and to have a certain order, I wanted to pass the outlet from the radiator through the tank so as not to have dangling pipes that could pollute or cover the cleaning that I managed to maintain. Perhaps some of you might not like the solution but I preferred the order. Some details. See you soon for circuit filling.
Sooo pretty. I'd strip the paint off those fittings in the reservoir. Eventually, the stuff that touches water gets ugly and the plating fails. It might be easier to contact Bitspower about some raw brass fittings.
