And the dead cat is out of the bag...

The things in no 10 still think they can define what cake is, eat the cake, f*ck the cake and have the cake.

They want a transition period, they want the future relationship to be an FTA, they want to pretend the NI / ROI border doesn't exist, they want to give Stormont a veto over the border policy (and gamble the entire arrangement on it every 4 years)

I love how it blathers on about it being a problem they can both solve...it's like he doesn't consider this to be a problem entirely of his own making...it's like taking a baseball bat to your car and then expecting the person you car-share with to help with the repairs.

EDIT: And what is he smoking when he says NI should remain in the customs union and that NI & ROI should consent to it every 4 years? He's totally failed to grasp why the EU are insisting on the backstop, hasn't he.

2nd EDIT: Also doesn't the fifth point contradict the third?

Yep, they are 100% mutually exclusive.

Also third one would require a border down the Irish Sea, which Stormont would have a veto over, if Stormont was actually sitting in the first place then it would immediately shutdown as the DUP would never allow it to pass.

    Edit:
    Irish Foreign Minister:
"if that is the final proposal, there would be no deal"

Yea but what does he know, it's a well known fact that feelings are the most powerful force in the universe and that Varadkar bloke is the physical embodiment of project fear, I've even heard stories of him appearing at the bottom of peoples beds in the middle of the night.

The longer BoJo and his cronies draw this out the harder it is going to be to actually sort the mess out. Why are they so scared of a vote decided by people in the UK. Every five years we vote on who we want to be ruling government which is democracy, now it has been all but three and a half years with no clear concise direction with regards to leaving the EU so why is it so "undemocratic" for what is being touted as a final say.

It is blatantly obvious what Johnson and his close inner circle are wanting, they want out with a no deal but they are putting stuff forwards that they know fine well will be rejected by the EU and the opposition parties in the house to make it look like they are making an effort to sort the mess. This way we will leave by default with no deals in place and whatever happens will unfortunately happen. It is obvious they don't care about the Good Friday Agreement and what could happen again taking us back to the 70's & 80's, they don't care because it will not affect them. It affects us, the people up and down the country just living out our lives.

For the same reasons everyone's avoiding a GE, they all think their side will lose [despite what they say publicly].

Ironically I think the Conservatives are afraid they would win. If they win and get that majority they'll get to deliver Boris' precious no deal and then they'll be on the hook for what comes next. Fairly safe to assume that whoever is in charge during an actual Brexit won't see office again for 30 years, assuming the party even survives.

Of course they'll try and blame the big bad Europeman, but problems are always the fault of the current administration and so on.
