"actively recruiting staff to bring RTX technology to 'a title that you know and love.'"

But I'm not sure that Terminal Velocity really NEEDS raytracing.

Presumably this is because only the oldest games can actually run with ray tracing at >=60Hz at a reasonable resolution?

You know what, if they added it to Psyconauts I would jump on the hype train and get one! (also possibly HL1 which is a fair chance that's what they mean if valve play ball)

    Maybe they'll do Doom*

*As per original system requirements, requires 70Hz monitor. Time to go GSync, peasants!

...Doom never specified a particular refresh rate, and from memory was unable to make use of any of the 70Hz 'high'-refresh-rate VGA modes (at least, in the original MS-DOS release) . To quote the documentation:
    EDIT:
Wait, I'm second-guessing myself, now. Let's see, Doom used a tweaked 320x200 Int 13h VGA mode stretched to a 4:3 resolution... which doesn't specify a refresh rate. I guess it *could* have been running at 70Hz - someone needs to fetch me a CRT with OSD, 486 with VGA output, and a floppy drive...

    EDIT EDIT:
Turns out my memory is faulty: most MS-DOS games of that era, including Doom, ran at Int 13h (320x200) 70Hz, not 60Hz. Mea culpa!

Raytrace the ships and "skybox" for Homeworld

    Update Freelancer with raytracing graphics

I'll be the first in line to buy a RTX graphics card.

HL2 would crack my resolve. Mostly because when it released I used to spend ages just standing there taking in the scenery. I'd like to do that again :)

Credit where due, I only knew because I saw something turn up where someone was complaining that one of the recent console ports of Doom sucked because it ran at 30FPS instead of 35 FPS and apparently this affects the "physics" significantly. (And it almost immediately turned into everyone trying to figure out why it would run at a weird number like 35 FPS in the first place, since that doesn't go into 60 at all.)

But I did in fact boot a K6-2, start Doom, and check the monitor's status display to verify it was 70Hz.
