So I bought Lamptron CM430 which is getting binned soon. Loves to turn off fans whenever it feels like doing so and does NOT remember settings if I shut down the machine.

So I need a fan controller that does these tricks:
    - allows me to set a base line below which fans never drop
    - actually remembers settings
    - preferably OS independent but this is not a strict requirement

Can be internal or front panel mounted. If latter it cant have any protruding bits as. Case is Define XL r2 so there is no room for knobs etc.

I faintly remember Corsair RGB something, internal thing being recommended. That a good option?

If you need PWM there's the Aquacomputer Quadro. It's software based, but great.
