News Nvidia releases new Red Dead Redemption 2 optimised driver

On launch day this will run on Linux too, right?

 

The required Rockstar launcher for RDR2 is Windows only.

 

That's what I thought. I was being sarcastic.

Regarding the game though, I heard it's one of those few that make buying a console worth it. Anyone that played it and can confirm?

 

For me I bought a PS4 to play this as well as a handful of other PS4 exclusive games (God of War, Spiderman etc) and it is a truly spectacular game. I cannot think of anything I didn't enjoy about it to be honest. I never play online nowadays however so I can't comment on the multiplayer aspect.

 

If it's the Spiderman I'm thinking of, then yes, that does look spectacular. But God of War? Is it really that good?

 

Quite literally one of the best games I've ever played. The storyline is stunning. The gameplay itself is nicely varied and challenging but it's the story that makes it.

 

Then the reviews must not be doing it justice, as I don't remember being impressed at the time.

According to metacritic, God of War is the 4th highest rated PS4 game of all time, behind Red Dead 2, GTA V and The Last of Us (Remastered) with an average of 94/100. Not sure what reviews you were reading!

 

I think I was skimming through the reviews and nothing jumped at me. Either that or, I haven't read any reviews for it and I'm confusing it with another game.
