how shall i kill my mother?

i just got a new 17" monitor for a second monitor and i now have a 15" that is collecting dust so a friend and i have decided to kill it.

he suggested making some sork of "incendiary device" and taking teh back off and putting it inside and putting the back back on and boooooom.

but i wouldnt have teh faintest idea how to make one, with things readily availible form sainsburys. (i think that's all thats open this time of night)

so does anyone have any other suggestions of an exciting way to destroy a monitor?? (without destroying myself mind you)

samuelellis: i was considering selling it/giving it, but this was just far too tempting

rtt: my uni often goes through monitors in teh computer labs and sells them off for peanuts so i can always get one.

monitors are indeed dangerous things, yay!

if i took it apart and then reversed the polarity on all (or just the biggest) capacitors and then plugged it in (outdoors) would that make a nice light show?

its not been used for several months, so i think it would be mostly discharged, maybe?

if fuses are a niggle replace them with nails....

Don't they teach people anything at schools these days...

 

ahh.. i'm good at this...

do as Lorquis says.. short out the fuses... put a coin in one of the holes in the back (if you can fit one in..) plug it in and shake it..


turniong all the caps is a good idea aswell... just remember to discharge them first...

watch out for the high voltage though!

I beat my old monitor with a hammer......it was fun!

 

send it to me and let me give it 2500 VDC, guarenteed to fuxx0r it. As for explosives...try thermite, napalm(w00 w00), solidox, gasoline(ok not explosive but still pwns), fertilizer bomb, 10000000 round fire crackers, model rocket engines(about 20 of them, they get hot enough to cut sheet steel I have used them to do cut sheet metal for things b4), dunno what else might be good.
