Getting there. Some more gaps to fill, some more things to sand, but. Dave Bautista Helbrecht is growing on me, although I possibly need to bionic his sword arm. Undecided on that right now. Feel like Grimaldus needs .. something else. At the moment the pose is basically the same as the normal Grimaldus. Which isn't the worst thing I suppose.
Nice, always been a fan of Grimaldus, wouldn't mind putting a version of him together myself. Something like his story on Armageddon where they had been fighting for so long that there was almost no paint left on their armour. Some Sisters of Battle (and Silence) would go in there nicely too. I managed to get a little more done with this fella, got his base sorted out now, just needs a little filling and tweaking around his feet. I with GW would make some more of these resin bases, they used to do quite a few in the older basing kits.
Aye. I like the current plastic bases they're doing, but I also liked those basing kits that had resin accessories and bits. Those were great for adding some variety, even if it was just in the positioning of things.
Made a slight cock up on the print, forgot to change the settings in the slicer so they're at 0.1 not 0.05, should have known by the print time! You can see some print lines on some surfaces (2nd pic), I don't think you'd notice once painted up, I'll get them re-printed this week and get both lots sent at the same time.
I'm waiting on some chain that may or may not be the right scale, but I had to throw some primer at them because looking at the blend of green, grey, and white was making me sad.
Looking great so far Lira! As for todays LVO previews.... I am happy. I have been heavily drawn towards AdMech of late, but also been contemplating filthy Tau (Ghostkeel is just gorgeous)... Loving the new AdMech riders! Also picked up Kill Team: Elites & Annual along with a box of Skitarii and some Tau Stealth Suits.
i dunno why people get exited for Xenos stuff anymore... the Bugs community got REALLY exited and they got... nothing
So I've managed to swap a warmachine army for an absolutely huge tyranid army. Anyone have any recommendations for how the hell I can strip an absolute **** load of plastic models quickly?
I've not had much luck with simple green in the form it was available in the UK as. I've seen some folk on youtube using all purpose cleaner and ultrasonic cleaning things, but that seems like it might be an expensive way to strip models.
Hm. The writing felt a little.. Cheesy. And the audio didn't sound bass-y enough, but that might just be my end. Also, the footfalls of the marine walking down the tiled walkway did old-school gaming things where the heel hits, and then rather than looking like it's propelling the character forward, seemed to just clip through the ground as the body slid along above it to level it out.
I think it's the sound design, a Space Marine screaming I AM DEATH doesn't sound right if it's not accompanied by a cacophony of gunfire and screaming.
The animation is certainly leagues better than anything else they themselves have put out before. Fully in agreement about the sound, it's far too 'tinny' and hollow. I guess we'll juse have to wait and see! Still, they should have just hired "Astartes" guy and given him a massive budget.
I'm sure it's been posted before, but it always makes me grin: Beware: it's impossible to only watch once.
