This is BY FAR the worst Bond title song ever. Even Sam whateverhisnameis did a better job and that one was boring to hell and back already.

 

So, it's not just me that thinks it's crap. It's just a marketing ploy to sell the film to a younger audience.

 

Content aside, was it recorded under a duvet? With a potato?

I read the headline of a German article along the lines of "the girl with the golden voice sings the new Bond theme"... I was stunned. Torn between snorting my drink back out through my nose and laughing hysterically or yelling at my screen in anger.

As long as Madonna's Die another day and Jack White's Another way to die exist the title of 'worst Bond theme ever,' is safely accounted for. It does sound to me like the last few Bond themes have been written by someone at United Artists, who then find their chosen singer and have them tweak it enough that they can have a writing credit, then produce it themselves so it has the Bond theme sound.

It's a boring way to do it, especially after I loved Chris Cornell's You know my name so much. But Another way to die was just so awful I can see why they would never want to risk that again.

But anyway, sometimes Kenny Loggins just isn't Kenny Loggins enough.

 

How you can say that Another way to die is anywhere near the level of sheer boredom of the mumbling tryhard-to-act-cool teenager who couldn't hit a note with all the auto-tune in the world is beyond me. Jack and Alicia didn't deliver the best Bond theme song ever, true. But at least they both understand what music is. Billie obviously does not.

 

A week or two ago I started to listen to Silly Billie's theme. At first it didn't seem to bad, an atmospheric introduction, then she opened her mouth... Cubby Broccoli must be turning in his grave.
