Well, the big "reveal" of Ragnar Blackmane and Ghazghkhull Thraka is on today. I think they're doing a live-stream of the event that they're holding. The hype is actually working on me, I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing what they reveal.
Agreed. SW's are the first chapter I remember having a cohesive collection of. Templars, IG, Necrons and Blood Angels were the starting points, but SW's were the first "I want an army of X".
Yup, looking forward to both those models. SWs were my first army build of any kind, and I do still have a small force of them kicking about somewhere. I have always been into the whole viking aesthetic (more so in recent years) so they were an inevitable one for me. As for the big fella, I currently have Orks everywhere and the whole saga of Makari has been a favourite of mine ever since he first showed up in the old ork sourcebook as a squig salesman at an ork settlement market. It's going to be very interesting to see what people do with Ghaz.
Yeah, that Ragnar is awesome. I don't get the appeal of Orkpants-Powerklaw, but I never did really get Orks.
Don't forget that the event only Marine Lieutenant is available for general order on GW's website: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-GB/Primaris-Lieutenant-Amulius-MTO-2020 It's the only thing that is up for order on there at the moment, but hey fingers crossed they do the same with some other bits like the new female Catachan store opening exclusive (especially as there is only one opening showing on the store calendars for the whole year anyway...).
I want to get one for my friend's birthday present (well, Christmas at this rate) but if you spend £40 or more, you get free shipping. I was thinking of getting two, but would rather get another model. I hope they open up everything else soon, otherwise I might be a shyster and keep one to sell on eBay, which would make me a hypocrite as I hate scalpers ,
Well, while I wait for Ghaz and Ragnar to arrive, I have 2 Adeptus Titanicus Warhounds on the way and the rulebook to see how it plays. Also been printing AT terrain I found via Thingiverse. Additionally, I've actually been making progress with my Space Marines Quite happy with the glow effect. Land Raider Interior Been trying to tinker with OSL But not with candle OSL. Might have it finished this weekend.
Many thanks. I'm trying to keep it all super clean, rather than excessive damage and mud and the like.
I've pretty much finished the Land Raider, just have some line shading to do and a couple of touch-ups here and there. Then it's on to a Captain in Gravis Armour. After him, it'll be a trio of Eliminators and then a full 10-man squad of Intercessors. I also picked up a pair of Warhound Titans and the Ruleset for Adeptus Titanicus for the laugh. Holy terra but the Warhounds are detailed! I can only imagine what the Warlord will be like. But, since most things are out of stock for AT, I'll have to wait.... so I ordered a boxed Knight Household instead 2 Porphyrions, 6 Knights with upgrade kits, and 2 Acastus Knight Lancers. Should be here by Friday.
Very cool, loving the little spot colours on it like the red of the missile and the gold on the fuel tank bands. One colour that I think would work extremely well on this, given the current colour pallette, is one from the Vallejo Air range and works amazingly well for things like hoses and the rubber joints on marines. It's called Tyre Black and is a dull black-green. Also works nicely as an initial highlight on black and as a base for things like antennas. Another one to look out for is Tamiya's panel accent in black, that would work perfectly for your panel lines and recess lining. Easy to clean up with a cotton bud and some enamel thinners. The brush that it comes with is tiny and it runs around panel lines by itself.
I've been working on some of the ol' dirty boys. I have done a wee bit more to Typhus since this pic was taken, a bit more filth and have added the fly clouds to his back, something that I see a lot of folks leaving off, I quite like them. Need to sort out some more marines and a shed-load more poxwalkers, but they're easy, base grey then throw washes at them until they're diseased enough.
