Hi all, I want to get a basic (cheap) monitor for some quick and dirty sim racing. Really not bothered about it being amazing, just something average to tide me over until I get a decent enough VR headset. My main question is.... Is there such a thing as a 32" 1080p monitor that doesn't look trash? Or at that res should I really stick to 27" ? I would consider 1440p as long as the price is right. Vesa mounting required. If you can recommend any monitors under £200 worth looking at then let me know! Thank you in advance
AOCQ3279VFWD8, had one for a while now, awesome monitor for the price https://www.amazon.co.uk/AOC-Q3279VWFD8-32-Monitor-LED/dp/B07CG41Y8Z https://www.ebuyer.com/838778-aoc-q3279vwfd8-31-5-16-9-freesync-ips-gaming-monitor-q3279vwfd8 https://www.scan.co.uk/products/315...ps-75hz-5ms-107b-colours-tilt-dp-hdmi-dvi-d-v 32", IPS panel, Freesync, QHD, 75Hz, 5ms, DP/HDMI/DVI-D/VGA Don't confuse it with the Q3279VFW - the D8 suffix is the IPS version.
Fingers! Long time no speak, I hope you are well buddy. Thank you very much for posting. You've made me realised though that I forgot to add a requirement, and that is that I need a vesa mount as it will be attached on a race rig frame. I don't think the ones you linked have that? Otherwise they look great!
Hi to you too, hope all is good. No, no VESA compatible mount. There is always the old reliable Dell P2719H. Only a 27" FHD but it is as least IPS, is VESA compatible, has a USB hub and DP/HDMI/VGA connections. Probably better resale value if you needed to shift it on in future. https://www.scan.co.uk/products/27-...ms-10001-300cd-m-displayport-hdmi-vga-usb-hub I'd need to do some more digging for something comparable to the AOC within budget.
Ahh yes that's a good shout. I have just found this adapter https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-U2879VF-I2379VHE-Q3279VWF-Monitors/dp/B074JSJSF3 Which although it says its for the WF version im sure that would still fit the D8 if the suffix just relates to the panel. For the extra £30 the 32" might be worth it
Looking at the website and manual (warning PDF), it will fit the D8 model, the stand is the same for both the VA and IPS panel models. It is only a clamp though, not sure how secure it will be. The monitor is 7kg. Good spot, I'll bookmark that in case I ever need a mount.
Thanks both for the replies - Ive gone for the AOC 32" and the mount adaptor - I think it should all work out ok, il let you know! Thanks again for the help (hoping to get a Valve index when stocks come back)
Yes mate. On AMD you use VSR (virtual super resolution) and on Nvidia you use DSR (dynamic super resolution). I've been playing black Mesa at over 5k on my 1440p VA panel and it's stunning and runs at a fair old clip. Consoles like the 1x and pspro do this too, so you don't necessarily need a 4k screen. Obviously your desktop will be 1080p but windows scaling is very good now.
