hello ceax thank you for giving me solution to this problem , but I have another idea you 'll se soon what I m going to do at this place
I'm now waiting on what you did/are doing to light this, and considering the quality of this project, it'll be good. Also, nice idea on the fan cathode in the roof, the effect is sweet.
little update here is the future design of the top and front lightning will be once it will be terminated, I think that is is better like this than having the all lexan illuminated to match with case design and by the way it resolve dark zone problem of top of front case sanding process is not finish yet and I will upload more pics tonight
That is increadable! Nice way to shape off the dark area... but did you see the post from earlier about drilling the small holes in the plexi in the top front corner and then mountind sanded diodes into the holes to fill the spots w/ light... it should fill it in nice and evenly......
yes I saw it but I prefer like this, it give a better design to the whole case I think ... but I havent yet receive the two last ccfl I need, when I ll get it i ll test lightning and advise, may be it will be necessary to use leds to have an "homogen" lightning...
Yeah, I like how you avoided the "dark region", by shaping your plexi as you did. Nice going. One question though are you goign to curve your plexi on the LCD window. The wood curves, but the plexi just sticks out of it. Just looks kinda odd. And if this has been mentioned before i apologize, I've been in this thread on and off.
COOL!!!! It is looking awesome! Either way you go.... It will be a work of art that will inspire many for years to come... (Dell's new presswood pc... We cut the corners for you... available in any color you want as long as it is beige!) Send it to the museum when you are tired of it. Side note... Watch out Zapwizard... We got some ingenious modders out there...
Re: COOL!!!! thanks for comment, it would be interessant to see think i m not tired of it for long time
I think that the curves look really nice, that was a clever way to deal with the darkened spot. I am looking forward to the painting, It will look great! Nice work.
some pics for you guys : the sandpaper : 3M label p800 watersanding I have got a little problem due to the tape on the lexan that i left on it, it goes wrong with water sanding then i had to cut the wood around lexan with cutter and put some finish mastic in the holes and then re sanding everywhere theb i re sand the case and paint it with filler another time... the top is not ready yet for painting but in few days it will be ok, the rest is nearly ready now. some last very little "mismatchs" (hope this is the wright word) I hope end this tomorrow and then I ll paint with primer color before a few blackpaint and sanding jobs
I hate masking residue evil stuff. It looks nice and smooth otherwise! keep us apraised of the situation (missmatches) Textured! J/k Actualy we just say that the surface is uneven. Hope that helps...
maybe cut out the acrylic strips making up the fan grills on the front, and replace them with laser cut or generic ones. Still nice work, i like the shape/frame effect you have created by painting a design ontop of the acrylic strips. V. win. This style is really taking off, am gonna look at using it to make a case of my own. prolly one of those miniITX boards. love the work, keep it up.
Looking great ! I hope this case will turn out to what you wanted, because I see there is a lot of hard work behind this case. Your english may not be excellent but your skills in working with wood is: EXCELLENT!
thanks for your comments spinDR > I prefer the lexan fan grill like this, may be I ll use lazercut grill for the rear fan... I have got some problems with the green mastic and now i have to use polyester mastic to replace it, still lot of work but I WILL WIN Vs this case
\o/ Yeeey the pictures are working again (is was down for like 1 week for me ) BTW are u going to flame polish the glass ?
