Looking at prices/stock on many websites I suspect the TUF/TUF wifi are about to be end of lifed and a TUF mk2 is on the way shortly. Prices outside of Europe are way down.

Got one of these on our front door (on account of my wife)...

... aside from an entryphone system (block of flats).

As it's mainly me that 'does door detail', all I do when they buzz up - to be let in - is to open and wedge the front door so they know what hole to put the parcel in... then stand back the requisite distance while they do so.

Dad collapsed today whilst out walking with my mum. Rushed to hospital but has had a massive seizure and is now unresponsive (in high dependence ward on oxygen with vitals being closely monitored).

Docs are stumped as to what triggered the seizure (no known history in the family and he has never had anything like it before) but currently can't rule out anything. He is showing no other symptoms of Covid-19 so they don't believe it was that (we assume he has been tested but that information has not been shared).

I have a feeling this week is not going to get any better :(

One of my Barracuda's is showing that... how 'terminal' is it?

It could just be a blip, and the sectors will be marked bad and written around, or it could be a sign of some ongoing deterioration. The latter being a real bloody issue on a relatively young 8TB drive - I only checked them a couple of weeks back and all was well.

I can't shell out for a replacement - I'll need to find out if it is covered under warranty, but I might need to source one or two cheaper/smaller drives in the interim.

Hmm... doesn't bode well for my 7200.11 Barracuda ST1000333AS.

How much data do you need to move off it? I *might* be able to help.

I can get away with a single 3/4tb drive but I'd rather RAID two or three and back them up with my other 8TB Red.

As it stands, I'm not completely out of space - It just means I've lost a tier from my backups and I don't like that. Not one bit.

Thanks all. Just waiting for updates now and comforting my mum as best as possible.

On a positive note we have had confirmation earlier that he is negative for Covid-19 so there's that.

A positive is a positive - I hope further news is just the same.

Looks like I've invited fate to deal me another sh!t hand... lowering the load on my graphics card (lower res. monitor) has seemingly up'd the load on my CPU (higher refresh rate)... better cooler req'd, as it's simmering in the low 70's more frequently under load (used to be high 50's).

Low 70's is fine, well within limits, don't stress over it.

I get that, but when the room I'm in becomes akin to a sauna, I can't help it - that & it's how my brain's wired, anyway...

    EDIT:
Besides, the Pure Rock I have was only meant as a stop-gap until I could get summat better, and now seems a fitting time to change up.

Got handed 2+ persons worth of work on a permanent basis. I'm quitting ASAP.

Anyone know of a decent IT job in London?
