This made me chuckle. A song about sweat pants (jogging bottoms).

While I posted due to name recognition I'll be waiting for other avenues. Asimov to Goyer is a pretty big step down.

The Foundation series blew my mind the first time I read it but that trailer doesn't make me feel it's something worth waiting for. I wonder if it'll go the whole way and cover the Daneel and Giskard 'side' story that merges into the creation of psychohistory.

Despite that if it's ever released on DVD I'll still probably get it.

That's an understatement. Love how they name check the co-writer credit for Dark Knight but leave out Batman vs "why did you say that name" Superman, and Terminator Dark Fate!

Asimov to anybody else is a step down.

With most things like this though I find them more enjoyable if I try and disassociate them completely from the books on which they're based. Comparing to the books will always be a disappointment. So I will watch, one day.

Still, i'm going to dig the books out again, not read them in a while.

No, stop, please! It's already dead! Just leave it alone!

I'm willing to give it a shot, but after the way Bethesda have treated the Fallout IP my expectations are below rock bottom.

This has piqued my interest. As an avid fantasy reader unafraid to dabble in sci-fi every so often, where would you suggest I begin if new to this collection?

Edit: I just purchased Foundation for £2.99 and dove right in. I LOVE it. I'm 6 chapters in and Hari Seldon's trial has just ended and I'm gripped. The writing is incredible. Thanks for brightening up my day :D

Ha! I was just about to reply. I was going to say, for the first read, read in the order they were written. Then you can always go back and read them chronologically, and then join them up with the robots series for a seriously epic reading marathon!

    Written order:
    1. Foundation.
    2. Foundation and Empire.
    3. Second Foundation.
    4. Foundation's Edge.
    5. Foundation and Earth.
    6. Prelude to Foundation.
    7. Forward the Foundation.
    Chronological:
    1. Prelude to Foundation (1988)
    2. Forward the Foundation (1993)
    3. Foundation (1951)
    4. Foundation and Empire (1952)
    5. Second Foundation (1953)
    6. Foundation's Edge (1982)
    7. Foundation and Earth (1986)
    With Robots & Empire series:
    1. I, Robot / The Complete Robot (except 'Mirror Image'!) [ROBOTS]
    2. The Caves of Steel [ROBOTS]
    3. The Naked Sun [ROBOTS]
    4. Mirror Image (short story) [ROBOTS]
    5. The Robots of Dawn [ROBOTS]
    6. Robots and Empire [ROBOTS]
    7. The Stars, Like Dust-- [EMPIRE]
    8. The Currents of Space [EMPIRE]
    9. Pebble in the Sky [EMPIRE]
    10. Prelude to Foundation [FOUNDATION]
    11. Forward the Foundation [FOUNDATION]
    12. Foundation [FOUNDATION]
    13. Foundation and Empire [FOUNDATION]
    14. Second Foundation [FOUNDATION]
    15. Foundation's Edge [FOUNDATION]
    16. Foundation and Earth [FOUNDATION]

I'm not a huge fan of the 'full send' phrase, but whoosh.

This was quite fun to watch.
