Don't google what the one I'm about to post costs.
That's pretty, hope it sounds as good as it looks. :)

I treated myself to this baby a few years back:

Yup. It's crazy how much you can spend. I also find it crazy how, beyond a certain price point, it gets worse and worse looking for more and more money..

@Byron C LockPickingLawyer has a lot to answer for..

No kidding! Next payday I think I'm going to order a set of 'proper' lockpicks and see how I get on.

He and Deviant Ollam are the reason I look far more closely at every lock I go near these days. The swines.

Bad News: Sky Fibre has been running at half speed for the last full week

Good News: After 10 mins on the line to Sky I secured the following:-
    1. Sky's speed guarantee is triggered, so refund incoming
    2. Turns out to be a line fault, so engineer booked in
    3. Smol (£3/month) discount negotiated going forward, but adds the movie channels (worth £19/month)

So far so good on powershelling the updates into a handful of options in a menu, rather than a gruelling "log on to thirty servers" romp.

Although it's not fast. Time to start researching how to make it faster, I suppose.

Openreach engineer arrived at 5pm, checked cabinet, climbed pole outside house, checked master socket inside.
Then found problem is that my line had "dropped one leg" (hence working but half speed) in a manhole up the road 150m away. All sorted now and back up to full chat.

Partner has hit 100% completion on the (city and guilds?) course that she has to do as part of her police training. We had planned on doing something to commemorate it, but I've been stuck in the shed breaking modding the case and stuffs for tbe competition and neither of us particularly fancy venturing out for a steak with a side of death. Come next Thursday/Friday when I'm finished too, there will be merriment.

Well I have finally had my pacemaker fitted. Taken almost 2 years to get to this point but apparently having 7+ second pauses in your heart beat isn't good for you. Feeling sore but definitely looking forward to not coming round lying on the floor anymore.

Its an Abbott DDDR Active pacemaker. I've also had a problem of going from tachi to bradi (155 down to 33 resting HR) so this should also be helped.

As I'm just over 40 they were a bit reluctant to do it initially but once they saw the pauses they didn't have a choice.

I had to restrain myself so, so hard from posting a much more offensive version of what you said. I was glad to see someone else thought the same.

Edit: I'm sure they were delicious, despite presentation issues.

Winding down. I finished one restoration then started two more. Hence why I have been absent. Got lots done. Probably more than I have in years. Got muscles I forgot I had.

Lenny, your fans are boxed mate. They haven't been labelled and sent because I have nothing to label them with and I am still sheltering. Just know I haven't forgot, I will deffo get around to it.

Going home on Tuesday. Looking forward to the rest. Need to rest up for a couple of weeks, then come back and power through the two bikes I am restoring. Also looking forward to some Xbox chill.

I finally have a usable version of Mac OS X for the Chonky Boi!

I mean... browsing the modern web on a machine from 18 years ago which has a 733MHz PowerPC processor is painful, but it's at least possible. It means I can use macintoshgarden.org without having to swap PCs, pass USB sticks around, SCP/SSH files, etc. These forums are at least usable, but only barely. I made the mistake of trying to open YouTube on a whim - that was a mistake!

Although it does make me tempted to look into a CPU upgrade.... I already want a CompactFlash-to-IDE setup - it won't get anywhere near the speed of even a cheapy SSD, but it'll be faster than IDE spinning rust. New graphics card would be nice too; I want to test out MorphOS but the GeForce 2MX isn't supported.

Finally got off my arse and connected the Musical Fidelity V-DAC II and Lehmann Linear to my main PC (they were both collecting dust in the "library", unused and feeling unloved). Now I'm sitting here, working and enjoying good music in outstanding quality with my Audeze LCD-X hooked up as well.

Plus, I got to see this in Foobar:
