I've always wanted to make use of the three PCIe slots on some of my motherboards for Folding but, with three dual slot GPUs, the cards would all be sandwiched together and would seriously overheat under full load. So, a PCIe riser and a few bits of metal work later ... and some spare time over the weekend ... one of my old PCs has morphed into an open case Frankenstein PC
Very nice, I love a good Frankenstein's monster of a PC. I've regularly considered condensing the multiple PCs I have folding into a couple of quad-GPU beasts, but I can't justify the expense of extreme enthusiast hardware and professional-grade stuff isn't well geared to open cooling.
Spot on, @Shirty! I was about to say something very similar to what you posted. Channel your inner Dr F and get some aluminium bars on the go
It is LTT... but have a laugh at this. Brilliant. https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1217392-gpu-rig-2020/
