ONDA is finally here! "Onda" is the Italian word for "wave". I had three major inspirations for the development of this project: wave, moon, skeleton. The structure is made out of crescent moons mounted to a constant offset that creates that wave look, and the way the crescents are spaced out and suspended from the base, reminds of those dinosaur skeletons that you can find in museums. The ultimate goal was to create something that was as close to real art as possible, and could be used as a showcase object in any room and environment. I'd like to thank all of my sponsors for making this project possible: HWLegend Modding Hydra PC Hunter OCPC Gaming Seasonic CableMod Alphacool Now space to the eye candy! AND a nice final footage as well! Hope you guys enjoyed this worklog and project, I have another special one going up in the next days and that will be my entry for this year's CMWS so stay tuned!
I think this is also the first build to design around the ball res instead of just dropping it in a case.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate your feedback! I really wanted to make some sense out of this res. It's a "special" product and it has to be treated "specially". Standard builds will always be better off with a classic tube res imho, but if you work around the Eisball as you said, it may give it justice!
Great work, I’m just wondering: is there a connection between the moon and the mainboard? Or is it two separate parts? The Eisball is really looking great in your work, Alphacool should use your mod for the presentation, it’s much better than their own design
I'm not sure what you mean. The motherboard is mounted to the Hydra Mini case which is mounted to the wooden moon structure. You should be able to see how I got it setup from the worklog
Сable management is excellent, it makes no sense to hide cables in an open case. Looks like a skeletal creature.
Thank you very much! That doesn't bother me much, you can easily get the I/O cables tied up, plus I'm fairly sure you could try to run them behing the Hydra case if you really wanted to... but I don't think that would take too much away from the looks of it anyway
ONDA is on for Mod of the Month! Support it if you feel it's deserved: https://forums.bit-tech.net/index.p...gust-2020-in-association-with-corsair.380845/
