Once again I am delving into the history books for this one.
    I simply love doing this.
This one is dedicated to the "QIN" Dynasty and the Terracotta Army which was found in 1974.
    Much much more to come...
The sketches are just the first rough ideas.
Details, details and many more dteials, all true to the theme and handmade as usual! Thats the promise. processed.jpeg processed.jpeg processed2.jpeg

Pretty interesting Idea ! I´m curious how it will turn out. Do you plan to bake the clay?

@Yargen, yes sir, thats the idea. so it will be made in segments so that they fit in the standard oven. i have to make do with the oven i have.
of course they are going to look kinda wethered too as if they were, as they were really, buried for over two millenia. 1.jpg

Yeah but by going there and doing it you are teaching yourself and learning new skills if everyone just said „I wonder how it is done“ no one would do anything Good Luck with the clay

So, Clay is inda house, this is gonna be a busy weekend. :)
am really curious how much weight the clay will lose when its dry. if you think that this is in this state over 12 kilos already.
I mean, without the hardware and water and pther components and wood etc..

hi guys, so its time to get the first face on this one.
    the front figure head.
today i modelled clay for the first time and realised i have the wrong clay. i dont have an oven thatn heat to 900-1200 degress.
so i will have to change plans a bit. have ordered the right clay for the other parts. air dry clay.
just have tp see how i can salvage thios head too now.

when some of the water is dryed out a bit then i will work on th details. tomorrow probably

i have decided to use the head i made as a negative. i cannot bake it in my oven so i will dunk it in silicone and make a mold, which i will further make molds of paster of paris.
the head is hard but brittle and i dont want it to break. the other option would be to go and have it baked somewhere at a pottery, but the next one i could find is 30 miles away so i will change my plans a bit.
    MAYBE! lets see

That´s unfortunate, I was really looking forward to real clay, but I was fearing that it wouldn´t be possible. But the Head turned out really well, I liked the video as well :)

Yeah, maybe I was unclear since English is not my main language I really like the idea of a Casemod with pottery and the clay changes when it gets burned, so I was really curious how it would look and which challenges it would provide.
A mold is interesting as well, but not quite the same
    Keep up the great work

The. Kiln is the only hurdle.
But like in all mods the look I want to achieve is the greatest concern. Have to get the look right. Like my IRON MAIDEN was made of wood n worbla, but fooled many into thinking it'd been cast from iron.
