Scratch Build – Complete ⭐ Neo- CyberPunk 2077 Scratch Build

Thank you. Yea that front and top panel took some time but I am happy with the progress so far.

 

Yea, tedious and time consuming but loved the outcome.

 

Quick lil' update: I worked on the HDD/SSD drive bay. I used a BeQuiet tray I had laying around (2 of these will be used to hold a HDD and 2 SSDs).Just have to drill/tap holes and find placement under the PSU shroud. Have to take my Asus power supply out my temp rig and put in here so I know where to place it (more on this later).


I added tabs on the back so there would be some support for the trays.

 

So, I had to do some modding to the hard drive tray so that I could mount the HDD from the bottom instead of the sides. I just used an exiting hole on the drive bay tray and traced outline of the mounting holes on the HDD and drilled holes the size of the HDD.



Perfect alignment!



Decided to make the fan grills magnetic due to the radiator screws not being long enough to mount them. So instead of buying longer screws, I used these 3mm magnets that I had from a previous case mod from some years ago and superglued them to the holes on the grills (had to drill the holes a little bigger). Flush and easy to apply and remove. Perfect solution!

 

It's faster to just poke the holes in the card with the pencil.

 

yea, that was a (duh!) moment lol

 

Been very busy, but here is what I have been working on so far:

The front panel IO. Got this from a be quiet case (with the wireless charging). Relocated the ports

Looks messy but will clean up later.


Mapped out where I wanted this to sit


Had to use 2-5mm pieces of acrylic to raise this up to sit flush with the top panel in order for the wireless charger to work. Then screwed down with 5mm screws.


Good fit...

 

Decided to add some washers (these will be painted gold, just to add a lil' splash of gold in here for the neokitsch type of look I'm going for).



Will be adding these 3mm white led lights to light up these Singularity Computer reservoirs.

Connected and sleeved

Plotting where to put the HDD/SDD tray underneath the psu shroud. Elevated it a little with a bracket that I had laying around.


Planning out the loop order (all fittings will be repainted). After cutting the petg tubes to size, I labeled all of them to make reassembly easier when I am cutting the glass tubes that will replace these.



Also, when I redid the back panel, decided to make taking out the GPU easier for maintenance and mounted it to the case using 5mm screws (this way I would't have to go behind my case to unscrew it).

 

I like your bigger is a better approach, which is not popular these days with all this small form factor trend.

 

Thank you. yea, I never really liked any of the sff cases. E-atx or super cases have been my personal choice.

 

Test fitting the PSU (this will be held up with supports)

Made a middle back piece to hide all the cable mess. This piece will only show the loop layout and cable management.

These are the cable comb brackets that will be used. I got a 24 PIN and a 12 PIN (for 8 and 4 PIN EPS).

Sleeved the reservoir LED lights with a Molex connector.

Sleeved the pumps. Changed the white connectors to black and I had to use a step bit to make the hole bigger in order for the now sleeved cables to fit through.

 

Since I wanted to make this case as easy to maintenance as I can, I decided to add screws, with washers, to the side panel where the mesh will go (these got hidden behind body filler). This way I can take off the mesh to clean it more thoroughly when the time comes.


Cut out some designs for the panels using my Silhouette cutter (these all will be lit up). Also decided on a name for this build: "Neo". Since it means new and I am new to scratch building, it's perfect (also it is short for neokitsch lol).

This is the GPU bracket. I wanted this to be lit up to look like a neon sign/billboard (like you would see in the game).

This is the front of the PSU shroud (The area to the left is blocked off because this is where the LED lights from the PSU will show through)

This is the front panel design. (Took some inspiration from the woman's clothing design and the building in the background on the neokitsch poster and came up with this design).


Decided to strip the RTX 2070's of there logo for a cleaner look (and these were already coming off).

And looky, looky, what came in the mail! Leak testing these two loops should be a breeze.


I already started painting the pieces. Had to hurry and get that done because I live in Chicago and it is starting to get cold af and since I have to spray outside, had to do it while there was decent weather. So...til next post.

 

Painted the washers gold and the silver screws black.

Painted the case. This was difficult due to the weather being cold and had to wait a while for a day that was decent, but got it done. Here is the front panel and the front PSU shroud (the rest will be seen in later post).

Wire mesh cut to size for the top and front panels.


Led's solder and wired for the top and front panel and the PSU Shroud as well. This took a minute since I am still new to soldering but no problems.

 

Here is the top panel of the case. Added the Rayfield logo (altered it a little), added the front I/O symbols and buttons and the mesh.


Here is the front panel with a Night City logo.


Did the sides of the radiators (after painting them) in a color shift vinyl (blue and purple) to give just a little pop!


Used these rubber pads that I had laying around as the feet. Just stuck them together to the height that I wanted and put stuck them to the case.

 

Yeah... I meticulously model everything in Sketchup and I still get caught out by little things just like that. It just seems unavoidable.

A lot of work, very good! Its turning out an interesting project!

Leak testing passed

Major air pocket. Always had this problem with this block. But I rocked and turned and got the majority out. Going to let it run a little and see if the rest will dissipate on its own.


You can see that the monoblock air pocket is almost fully gone.

Back view. Added this panel to hide fan controllers and other wiring mess.

This is the back-side panel. This will hide the wires and show off tubes and cables.

 

Time to polish this plastic
