Yeah still lurking in the background lol, didn't realize it had been 8 years since my last post!

I spat my dummy out back then after bigadv was removed having invested very heavily in kit specifically to fold them, given the situation this year having now found myself at home a hell of a lot more and not being able to do much I decided to have a play with some GPU folding, seems mad having a single GPU that produces more PPD than my whole farm back in the day!

 

It is amazing how things have changed hardware wise.

I have been dabbling since lockdown and am in the top 300, having starred less than a year ago.

There are a couple of i5s on the go most of the time, ticking away plus a 6 core i5 and lowly GTX 970 from my gaming/editing rig that I run when it's cooler in the room!

 

The bigadv days were good days ... but their removal, and the rapidly advancing processing power of the GPUs, made my 4 socket Operton machine redundant - so I know the feeling.
Looking at your PPD these days though, I'm guessing you managed to get your hands on some RTX 30xx series cards?

 

Not yet I'm still trying to get hold of one just running some RTX 20xx series and a couple of Quadro RTX.

 

Dave_Goodchild, I had a large smile when I read "just running some RTX 20xx series and a couple of Quadro RTX". What Quadro's are they? Good to see you back and catching us all up.
