CCL are showing in stock but using the add to basket you get a message saying all stock is in people baskets and they have 15 minutes to check out ....
I managed to get one! Well assuming Scan don't just put me in a queue... The trick of having it in your wishlist then adding to basket worked.
And the Founders 3080 and 3090 seem to have disappeared from the Nvidia site. And this 3060ti does make the 3070 redundant, some of the prices are more than the FE 3070
Is there anywhere I can actually join a preorder queue? At the moment I can't even seem to get into a queue. Anywhere apart from Scan and any decent card below £400. Finding it hard to believe that shops don't want my money!
I wonder if Nvidia et al will eventually centralize distribution to get over these distribution, delay and scalping problems. Like, just go full Amazon and have their own mail order only sales site, one unified queue system with consistent availability estimates, no guesswork or hunting for us to do, and they disallow warranty on any card not presented with proof of purchase from Nvidia's own distribution centre, rendering scalped hardware massively less valuable and desirable. It's what I would do in their situation.

Four and a half years later, thirstier, a touch more expensive... and only twice as fast? It's a sensible upgrade, but I'm struggling to understand why there is so much hype around these cards. Shouldn't we be disappointed with this meagre progress? (I will grant that DLSS is _actually_ a game-changer, but doesn't really resolve the disappointment in card performance)
Somebody mentioned this the other day, but it seems even though it says you can collect in store, it doesn't matter where you say you are, they're not available.
Look at it another way: Faster than a 2080 Super. + Less power hungry than a 2080 Super. + $300 less (at least in theory) than a 2080 Super. = Pretty big improvement for 1.5 years. (of course the 2080 Super was comically overpriced for what it was, but still good to see things progressing in the right direction rather than getting even worse).
