My kids play on two PC's in my house, in different rooms.
I'd like them to talk to eachother, using two headsets.

Preferabbly, I'd like to NOT use an internet based service. They should just stay on the internal network.
All I've found are the likes of Discord or Teamspeak, which both require registration and internet connection and I'd like to avoid that.

    Is there a way?

    Best regards,

    Xir

You can run an extra local Teamspeak server, just like Mumble...

I mean I'm white and nerdy so I'd just be buying them a pair of those PMR VOX 2-way radios that motorbike instructors and body guards use. Will make them really appreciate discord when they finally do get it.
