    Hi

My friend has an old machine (sandybridge) and while he will be replacing the whole PC next year, he currently wants a new GPU to run 3 x large monitors for the time being.

He now has 1x 4K (2160p, HDMI/DP), 1 x 2K (1440p, DVI only) and will be purchasing another 4K (HDMI/DP) and wants a graphics card that will run all 3 AND only be powered from a PCIe slot (PSU is 400 watts).

Current graphics card takes 2 x DVI and 1 x mini-HDMI, and is an intel sandybridge board..

Is there a card that will do this, bearing in mind it MUST have a DVI connection (I assume DVI to HDMI would not run @ 1440p or 2160p)?

    I am thinking RX 550?

He does a lot of coding work so wants the real estate as one of the monitors will be portrait mode!
He does not in any capacity game on pc or ever plan to do so, this is basically for his work.

Right ok, and both the HDMI and DP will allow up to 2160p on each, and 1440p on the dual link DVI?

The end monitor (1440p) will actually be in portrait.

Yep, both the HDMI and DP port can do 2160p.
And then the DVI port for the 1440p monitor.

Doesn't matter if landscape or portrait, works either way round on all three.

    Hi

His mobo is a P8H67-M PRO (LGA1155), and he has a corsair 430w PSU. Will the RX 550 work with this if it needs a 6-pin power connector?

It'll be fine, the RX 550 sips so little power the PSU will be more than sufficient.

Just curious though... which RX 550 has a 6 pin connector?

Hi, all is good, he has ordered the 4gb Powercolor one which has DP/HDMI/DVI-D and does NOT require a 6-pin connector for additional power.

On ebay some were listed as saying they needed a 6-pin connector, but this version does not according to Amazon and their reviewers. Cheers
