Both are HJ 17mm radiators: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001355750857.html

I think they aren't as good as something like a TX but the thicker 25mm fans allow much more air flow into the case, so better non-watercooled board / SSD component temps.

Apparently they're doing a black version relatively soon. Although a copper one would go with my mono-block nicely.

Also, great too for the double-rad setup, but then I've heard it doesn't make that much difference to cooling.

N.B: Apparently the T1 does much better with the rad at the top. May be worth flipping the orientation.

Rad on the top is marginally better cooling, but shitty for loop bleeding.

More importantly for me it also means the space I’m currently using for the RES is under the pump in the flipped layout, so is Really really shitty for loop flow!

In case anyone is interested, the fans I ordered arrived today. They are indeed Fanner fas, but are 15mm unlike the 12mm advertised. Very similar to my akasa slim fans, but translucent blades, black cable, and very slightly thicker shroud.

Due to Covid rather than Brexit, according to them.

It was all OK up until the end of Dec, but yes - I concede it could be COVID.

They say themselves: "Due to reduced flights worldwide as a result of COVID-19 it's not possible to ship air mail to many countries from Taiwan. In addition, shipping and customs processing may be significantly delayed to the countries we can ship to."

Either way, it's a big shame. I'm very happy with my (third-hand) v2 but you never know when temptation will strike!

Wonder if that's why the thermaltake case I ordered in November still isn't in stock. I cancelled it in the end.

Sounds like a bit of an inappropriate relationship there, David :naughty:. Part of me is regretting not getting new panels as a couple of mine have noticeable wear from previous owners.

I decided not to in the end as it was being card to LAN night weekly, those were the days...

As the frame paint was worn and flaking I had it resprayed and clear coated by a guy respraying a VW T5 the colour I was looking for - metallic graphite.

I'm sure it will; a bit of patience and world sorting will make it all the sweeter when it arrives at Jinqs Towers.

@bawjaws, my v5 is also third hand AFAIK. I got it from @Goatee, and he didn't have it from new from what he said.

The only slight worry I have with my case is that it's fairly easy to strip threads - fortunately I don't tinker with my case much at all these days, but if I did then there are a couple of threads that aren't far off being totally stripped. Would be sad times if that happens.

True, one of the GPU support screw threads is feeling iffy, but I'm not changing anything regularly. I guess I could tap a larger hole with a new screw, or glue a nut on the back. if it comes to that.

just drill em out and re-tap to a bigger size - slight PITA but it's worthwhile - I've done that with a couple of rads in the dim and distant.

[edit] Scrap tapping them out to a larger size - I forgot about Rivnuts.

I bought a V6.1 in November. It's still upstairs in the box as i was waiting for AMD and Nvidia to sort supplies. May just be worth waiting for the next generation at this rate.
