A popup to help me stay focused. Genius!

Unless it can be turned off, that is going to annoy me, A LOT!

EDIT: This from Microsoft, "And if news and interests doesn’t appeal to you, you can easily turn it off by right-clicking on the taskbar."

Yay! More sh*t running all the time in the background!
They seem hell-bent on making the OS a television, and not a tool.
I still remember that time I switched off the popups, only to have what I was doing crash... because of a popup telling me the popups were turned off, and it wouldn't bother me now.

If only game developers and capture card makers supported Linux properly.

As soon as I can play all the games I play on Linux and Elgato make some Linux drivers, then I will ditch windows.

What would be nice is a taskbar pop up webpage of my choosing. I can then have my home automation just 1 click away, rather than 2 clicks away :winking:

I want my OS to come barebones. No crap pre-installed. Anything I actually want I could grab from the Windows/OS store. I’m getting really frustrated with Windows.

Been saying this for years myself. Since before Windows XP. Having drivers etc integrated in so that the first day isn't just an endless round of boot-installDriver-reboot-installDriver-reboot is great, but with the Microsoft Store now, there really is no excuse for including a raft of programs I either a) never use, or b) actively do not want.

All the notifications Microsoft has were turned off on my PC because all of them are annoying especially while I'm working. :naughty: So this new update isn't really helping at all.

after one of their updates I noticed an icon had appeared - as is always the case now I immediately thought “oh damn somehow I’ve accidentally installed spyware/etc” - apparently it belongs to Microsoft ... ‘Meet Now’ ... no thank you!

Each time Microsoft does this it feels like they’re kicking me in the teeth ... just because they can.

    Pretty much.

I'll be honest, I'm pretty keen to get myself weaned off as much Microsoft stuff as possible; I accept I won't stop using Windows completely (games) and despite many protestations from the anti-Microsoft brigades, LibreOffice is a steaming pile of [censored] in comparison to MS Office.
