Remember when workers' rights would be protected? Surprise!

(I'm self-employed so it makes no difference to me, I only work half a day anyway - and I get to choose which half, day or night!)

Still, it's only the fishing industry that's been screwed over, right? Like, lobster, skate, and... pigs? Oh.

That is a very good point. Wrong thread though?

Yes... though it does touch on the brexiter obsession with border control... only for them to actively not control the borders when it's necessary.

I agree, that's why I threw in a '?' as I was confusing myself by the end of my sentence :)

There are Brexit elements in the attitude to the pandemic.

Let me guess, Brexit resulted in some sweet tax breaks for rich non-domiciles?

Right, so, I've skimmed the article, and why is it I can't find any mention of how Alexander Boris de Peffel Johnson said, back in November 2019, that "if somebody asks you to [fill in a form], tell them to ring up the Prime Minister and I will direct them to throw that form in the bin"? Okay, that was to a crowd in Northern Ireland, but presumably the same would apply to Scotland?

Now he's not only not telling them to throw the form in the bin, he's blaming those who filled it in for doing it wrong? Pfft.

Also paperwork wasn't going to matter at borders anymore because the magical Sir Dom was going to ride in on his mighty IT Unicorn and deliver a high tech border the likes of which the world has never seen in time for our departure from the EU.
