Mine uses just the display. I have one I bought from Byron in the floor of my area 51.

Thanks for all the feedback! I am happy to share my template file if anyone wants to use it? You can just adjust you your displays resolution.

 

Just the display. HDMI to then gfx card and usb power to internal header.

 

That would be cool if you don't mind, I'd use it as a starting point, takes so long to position stuff with Aida

Worked a treat thanks, just need to tweak it for my system now.

 

BTW if that is a touch screen pi screen don't connect up the USB touch screen. Windows didn't like it. I disconnected the data lines in mine so it just gets power. I mainly run animated videos on repeat on mine. Or I just drag Aquasuite onto it. I did use AIDA, but I found it was a proper time sink lol.

I've got touch enabled on my little second screen, works a treat in windows, I was surprised, you can even independently touch type and browse/whatsapp on second screen whilst playing games on the main screen without interruption, I didn't think that would work.

 

Mine crashed. That said, that was probably Windows 8 back then. I used it as a test screen for PCs for a while before actually putting it to a use. It was well handy for that.

 

S7 Tab 256Gb model via work so a chunk less than retail. I'll order some case for it as well

Replacing my iPad mini 2 which has a random battery life of between 8 and 48 hours. Will do pretty much everything I need so office apps, media consumption an design work. The S Pen should be fun to get used to.
Also means I can plug it into the PC as a second monitor as needed which will be handy for lots of things.

 

An apparently very special nylon strap and plastic clip just arrived in the post today.



The pull strap for the roll cover on my truck, or rather the plastic clip that activates the latch broke a couple months ago. Upon inspection I thought "well of course that plastic clip was going to break given the force that's put on it pulling the roll cover to and fro, I'll bet a third party makes one with a brass or steel clip so it doesn't happen in another year"

Nope.

Nevermind, I'm sure you can just get the plastic bit for a few quid.

£53. 1.9m nylon strap, aluminium carabiner, and aforementioned plastic clip that's absolutely going to break again.

Much resent.

 

I feel your pain. Bought a new rubber strap for my Breitling the other day. Recycled the deployment clasp from the damaged strap so we're literally talking about 2 x 8cm long moulded rubber straps, nothing fancy. £60.

Madness. I hate OEM part prices sometimes, unless there is some tangible added value.

Mind you , if I'd wanted a new deployment clasp at the same time the bill would have been £300-£850 depending on the finish. On a part with a BOM cost of no more than maybe 20 Swiss Francs.

 

Sounds like a convoluted reason to get into 3D printing metal.

I hear those laser machines that print titanium are rather nifty.

 

Since this will definitely break again in the exact same way, it would theoretically be the cheaper option I kept the truck for long enough.
