I picked up an AORUS 15G with i7 and 3080 and I'm mostly happy with it except for the speakers. I was out in Whistler and I saw some businesses using the BOSE SoundLink Mini and I can get one from Costco for around 230 CAD, or 130 GBP. Is this a good option for something portable?

I just realised that the new BOSE SoundLink Mini II SE does not come with a dock. What are some good alternatives for compact speakers/soundbar?

What's the issue with it not having a dock? If you just want it for an alternative laptop audio solution, power it from the laptop's USB port and link audio via BT.

A small footprint is good for now because I have a very small desk that was not designed for computers. When I move I will take the speaker with me and I will have room for a proper solution. When I do, a charging dock will be a nice feature as I will be using it as a portable speaker. A friend lent me his Sonos move and I'm pretty happy with the sound, especially when compared to the laptop speakers.

What about the Bose Revolve? I have the larger Plus version which although portable, is on the larger side. You can buy a charging base as an extra for £15ish and definitely worth it to save all the plugging in and out.

There's a Sonos announcement shortly for new products, a smaller (& cheaper) Move is rumoured to be on the list.

What happened with Sonos' backtrack on legacy product support in the end? Did they agree to continue to provide firmware for previous gen stuff?

I just ordered a JBL Xtreme 2 for £119.20 from JBL with the site discount and 20% student discount. Seems a good deal as it retails for £279.99.
