A first test and it booted fine.
Need to install tomorrow all the new mobo drivers and the Aquasuite.

Then I need to come up with an RGB color scheme for adults

The size difference to the O11 is quite obvious. That one completely filled the space...

Also made 2 thumb screws to fix the top panel to the case
Now waiting for the plexi to come in, for the last part, the window...

It's like the GPU has it's own aquarium compared to the motherboard side.
    RGB for adults... Off?

I was really surprised when the plexi arrived today.
I ordered yesterday around 10am and it was here today at 12:45 :eeek::eeek::eeek:

So this evening I finished the window. The first part milled with the new CNC server.

    20210311_172951.jpg

I went for 8mm thick grey tinted plexi. For the design, I followed Cheapskate's suggestion. :thumb:

The window will stick 5mm out of the side and I gave it the same 3mm radius on top and bottom to match the case.
Then I milled a 15mm wide, 1.5mm thick frame around the actual window, which will be glued to the side panel from the inside.
Since this window is again taller than my Y travel, I had to do each side in an individual clamping. Quite time consuming and a great risk to loose patience on the very last part :geek:

To fix it to the side panel, I used transparent double-sided tape, which I borrowed from my wife's desk.
She's into paper craft and a true artist in her stuff...

    20210311_185415.jpg

But before that, I had to polish the milled edges.

    And a peel...

The tape, which is made for sticking paper together is surprisingly strong with alu and plexi :thumb:

Of course, from this perspective, if this side of the case is meant to face a wall, there's no point for a windowed panel , and I reckon it was more kinda personal thoughts, like what I would have done with such a beautiful ITX case in my hands to let the hardware visible :naughty: ... but to go further, what I had in mind was rather acrylic panels with vents like this...

Woah. Those thin ribs are a milling nightmare :eeek:
    Respect for them.

I am practically sure I would have gone for the same hole pattern than the rest of the case

The side panels are interchangeable. So after your earlier post I swapped them out, just to have a look.
I did not post the pics though.

Without an RGB strip on that side, you could actually see nothing of the hardware :geek:
Both, PSU and CPU fan are black and hardly visible through the tinted plexi.

So this would require a light strip as well on that side.
In this case rather on the bottom that the top, because both parts sit right under the fan bracket and would block the light.

    20210312_161848.jpg

I ran a HWinfo log for 2 hours, while I made the plexi window yesterday. CPU hit 45°C max. The open window panel was taped close.
So as expected, running some code in Mach4 is quite undemanding. Guess I could live with a closed panel on that side.
There should be enough intake from the front, rear and bottom.

Therefore, if one fine day I have to place it somewhere else and this side will be visible, I add another RGB strip and just swap the side panels :thumb:

:brrr:45°C is not bad at all :thumb:, airflow seems to be pretty efficient regarding the ryzen temps in most of the ITX cases commonly tested in reviews, anyway, your case is a "little jewel" I would say , thanks for sharing
