I had a serious generation-gap moment the other day when I mentioned 4chan and some kid in discord was like "what's 4chan?"

I was like "hoo boy, right, take a seat, this is a long story..."

Oh, I have new monitor awesomeness too: got a crappy off-brand 27" IPS from eBay for £110. No stand, but I work in IT so that's not a problem, you can't turn around in my office without tripping over a miscellaneous VESA stand.

The upgrade from 22" 1680*1050 is fantastic for productivity. Did you know Windows 10's window snapping works in corners/quarters too? You can pop four windows into the four quarters. Doing it on 1680 was pretty pointless, but on QHD it's wonderful.

 

Yes, it has annoying habit of trying to do that when I just want 2 windows side-by-side.

 

Oh, if you like that then you'll love fancyzones.

 

Well after delays of nearly 2 months our internet has gone from 2Mbps to this!

That's awesome. I am hoping that we get a similar increase soon as we are currently having fibre installed around the area. At the moment we could get an estimated 4-8Mb on a phone line based service so we are kinda stuck with Virgin and their increasing prices. We do get a VERY stable 108 to 109 Mbps with them though (30 day average) so the service is pretty good, but options to give us a bit of leverage with them would be nice.

Openreach are still scurrying around my home town every day, with the prospect of me going from FTTC on a cabinet 1km away to direct FTTP, with a minimum 4x speed increase both ways.

My SO I've had a lousy week hospital appointments and a few other bits and pieces so she scored two jobs lots. 1 from from Facebook marketplace for 13 of the Warhammer 40k legends collection then turns around and gets me another 41 of the collection as another job lot from eBay and it works out she paid less than £3 per book including postage which considering what they normally go for is a bargain

Her justification when I started worrying about them Happy early birthday (my birthdays not until may lol).
