Still should not pass Q&A, if you ask me. A GPU that throttles under normal load is not good enough to be shipped.

Don't they all throttle though? They boost until they hit the thermal limit?

A GPU as expensive as a 3080, being sold with penny-pinched thermal pads, I would agree is not good enough.

    Couple of bits:-

Lidl's finest cordless circular saw & a clamp/guide for it (I already have batteries for it with other tools):-

A new camping chair that's UK-weather-ready (for when we're allowed out again):-

I just cut a door down to size this morning, if I'd known Lidl were selling a sawing guide for a tenner it would have been my first port of call :hehe:

Not to worry, the spirit level and two clamps have once more done the job.

That looks like a british take on those glass japanese public toilets that go opaque when you lock the door. Given the state of our public amenities, it probably relies on the steam off your piss to fog it up.

    I wasn't defending it - just stating a fact.

They're a bit good them. Also bought a Tange Tank for the bike I am restoring.

A stack of interlocking garage floor tiles...

And all the KALLAX for a total of 82 hideycubes of storage in the garage. And could probably do with a Dymo so I can actually find where things are.

If printouts and clear tape are good enough for Mr. Hyneman, they should be good enough for anyone!

My initial plan was to just use a sharpie. But on inspection of the finish of the units (plain white, not the high gloss one) I don't think it would wipe off very cleanly if I ever wanted to change it.

... Which one one hand doesn't matter because it's a garage, but on the other hand the whole purpose of the Kallax vs open shelving is tidy, so probably best make a bit of an effort.

That ship probably sailed when I specced my server cab in bright orange.

Tis, and probably more than is entirely necessary (though since when was too much storage a bad thing), but two 5x5s will be also serving as a false wall, to hide away the boiler, pump, tanks etc on one side of the garage, and big things, sheet materials etc, on the other.

First edition of Hugo Cornwall's The Hacker's Handbook - to go with Steve Gold's fourth-edition update I got last week.

Sadly, rumours of the first edition containing secrets which caused it to be pulled from sale and reissued in censored form are untrue - as per "Hugo Cornwall" himself, Peter Sommer.

What *actually* happened is, just before it was due to be released, the Metropolitan Police's newly-formed Computer Crimes Unit issued a statement condemning its publication - which, naturally, meant everyone immediately rushed out to buy it and it sold out instantly.

With the Met against it and it suddenly disappearing from shops - by selling out because the Met unwittingly gave it a massive publicity boost - the "it's been banned" rumours launched.

Colour doesn't preclude one from function over form - So long as the form is still its most functional rendition, it could be day-glo pink for all it matters. Back when I need a new wallet, all I had was day-glo pink and orange duct tape. No prizes for guessing what colour my new duct tape wallet was.

Held up for years, that thing.

    First quote in - £320

On one hand I get it, it's a made to order item, and not really a consumer one at that.
On the other hand, a sheet metal chassis, a bunch of sockets, a few metres of 4mm flex and a 32A commando plug... sheesh.

So looks like I'll be making some compromises based on whatever crops up on ebay.

How many ways do you need?

    https://www.racksolutions.co.uk/rack-accessories/power

Their small print mentions custom cable lengths & commando plug options.
