It depends on the director's and camera crews' intentions, as well. In this situation moving towards 4:3 would show more of each shot, but not necessarily improve the composition if the director and camera crew were filming with some other aspect ratio in mind. Something I'd never really thought about until recently reading about the Buffy controversies. Season 4 of Buffy is available in both widescreen and 4:3 (both originals, not remastered) because Region 2 got it in widescreen but Region 1 got it in 4:3. Apparently when it was being filmed they were told to bear both in mind (where in seasons 1-3 they'd only considered 4:3). The result is odd both ways: the 4:3 is sometimes missing useful detail at the sides, while the 16:9 sometimes has weird errors and aberration at the edges. I guess it's hard for a film crew to try to frame both ratios at the same time and still do their jobs properly. With BvS, I reckon which is superior would depend more on which was the original intention of the film crews when they shot.
I haven't already watched: Justice League Harley Quin Alita Battle Angel Gemini Man and have these lined up to watch... Charlies Angels MiB international Jojo Rabbit Jay & Silent Bob reboot The Hunt Iron Sky 2 Aiming for ones i've missed in the cinema with my unlimited card...
I really enjoyed JoJo Rabbit - if you've not seen The hunt for the wilderpeople and you enjoy JoJo, you should definitely add that to your list! And Moonrise Kingdom is another great story, Wes Anderson film. I watched "Room" recently on netflix and really enjoyed it - bit of a weird one, but deffo great film.
Have seen Hunt for the Wilderpeople (was given it by the BiL) - not your usual film fare, made me think of the royal tenenbaums from a while back in its offcentre, slightly odd humour - enjoyed it though.
Unhinged 8/10 I'm a sucker for a Russell Crowe movie and he doesn't disappoint as a nutjob with road rage. Didn't get great reviews but I enjoyed it.
And the 7day trial ends today; and the only one i've not watched is Jay & Silent Bob reboot. Not bad going me thinks!
Force of Nature - 1/10 A script like a D&D-scenario that manages to be as boring as it is predictable. Is Mel Gibson getting old and in need of money? What a bad movie.
Hard Kill - My faeces could write a better film/10 I mean, just a random watch but when a film has Bruce Willis acting badly, even for him, and he's still the best actor of awful lines in a terrible plot... Well... Just don't, really just don't watch it.
Godzilla Vs Kong Big Monsters / 10 you know the drill by now, the story is the bare minimum to tie the big fights into a movie... but watching Godzilla and Kong kick all kinds of ass is NEVER going to get old
Anti-Life - More Bruce Willis pension pot fodder/10 Yup, i'm providing the service of watching the trash films old Bruce is churning out to help him fund his retirement. Slightly more of a plot than Hard Kill (in that there was an attempt) and Bruce was slightly more awake in the filming. Special effects are awful and the weapon props look like Blue Peter had been rumaging through the recycling again. Spoiler: Not sure it could be spoiled but this is a spoiler And yes, the highly corrosive cleaner you see him spill at the start is good as a weapon that they didn't realise until the end of the film, who knew!!! And yes, the ending, like most of the film, is predictable from about two minutes in. Again, bad acting (the Doctor actually stands out to be fair, she could act - although it may just be the others made her look better). I shall endeavour to provide this public service so you don't have to suffer - until I lose my mind that is.
Mortal Kombat (2021). Finish Him!/10 That was a lot of fun. I mean.... it'll never match up to the soundtrack of the 1995 film without Napalm Death or Fear Factory, but it was a hell of a lot of fun!
Justice League - Snyder cut Long, longer than a long thing on the longest day of the year. Worth it though adds a lot more depth to what is going on.
Stowaway - Flawed Premise/10 Spoiler: Duh Yeah, a worker left hidden behind a panel and not noticed as missing. Whoever closed the panel didn't see a big guy stuffed in there, of course strapped to the life support... Nope Slow. Not gripping. That is all.
