Grosse Pointe Blank A professional assassin's return to his home town, to carry out a hit, coincides with his ten year high school reunion. I love this film, but it's got to be almost twenty years since I last watched it.
I love that film! The Cusacks, Dan Aykroyd, prime Driver. I watched it not that long ago, still great.
Grosse Pointe Blank is one of my favourite films, annnd now I feel the need to fire up the ol' BR and watch it again.
Monster Island: what even is this/10 The Asylum tries to be less crappy. Fails. I wanted kaiju. Next time I'll just watch Gamera.
Holy fook, I never realised they were the same year! GPB always seemed a lifetime before GWH for some reason. Daaaaamn. I feel old.
Yep. When you speak to someone you think 'oh he looks like he's my age' then you mention something that draws a blank expression, you find out they're 10 years older than you.
"... Professional Hitman" "Does that come with dental?!" Love this film - I'm kinda gutted Cusack and Piven split up but still... good times
This slippage phenomenon gets even more awkward when it comes to the aforementioned ogling of ladies in old films, because you go "oooh" then realise you're old enough to be her dad, then wiki it and realise she is old enough to be your mum
Twist - 6/10 Not particularly bad, but not outstanding good either. The parcours isn't nearl as good as in, say "District B13", the optics of the movie sometimes have this strange "too sharp" cheap movie look, but the music is good and it moves along nicely.3
Bond/ Twice Both times were good. I don't care what other people think about it, I thought it was a worthy finish.
The Matrix Reloaded & The Matrix Revolution - 7/10 I get it now, I totally get it. I completely blocked these films from my memory when they came out, but watching them again after 17 years.... I get it. Yeah. I watched the trailer for The Matrix 4: Resurrection right after and... I'm hyped af for that now. Please please PLEASE re-open the Gallery, Odeon!
I was going to retire tonight tired and slightly squiffy, but I shall now being feeling old too, 17 years!!!! really?? Damn
The original Matrix film was 22 years ago in 1999. EDIT: I got it wrong in my last post, Reloaded & Revolutions were out in 2003, 18 years ago...
You're not helping Bloody hell, where has the time gone? Although I have had a nice flash back whilst thinking about replying or not, about my first cinema trip, it was to The Wrath of Kahn when I was 9 Oh how I wish for those simpler times, what I would do then knowing what I know now......
"Red Notice" on Netflix - NO/10 The best thing about this film was that it has finished now and I never need to revisit it. edit to add : It makes the Vin Diesel film with Vin Diesel in it seem REALLY GOOD in comparison, despite this being a Rock film with Deadpool and Wonder Woman in it
