After breaking my lcd display months and months ago i finally go arround to rewireing it and configureing it (well still in the process. Its only 16x2 but its good enough for me Just need to get it mounted up properly now CPU Without Flash.. CPU With Flash.. Temps With Flash.. Seams that lcds aint the easiest things to photograph
What program are you using? I like the cpu picture! My lcd is pretty difficult to take a picture of too.
Is that a parallel one? I'd also like to know what program your using, cos how did you get the pic of the CPU? ...
Yea its a parallel one im using "jaLCDs" (http://www.jalcds.de) if you register on the website you get the chance to download custom characters and configs that other members have made Its a good program and has nice transitions between the screens Shame the sites in german but you get the option for english in the program
What do you mean with broken? It was only a matter of wrong cabling or something else? I have a 16x2 LCD that worked like a charme, but one bad day I plugged in the 5V connector in a bad way and I think I've flamed the logic ICs..... Now the backlight works, but the display is "dumb"!!!!
It just got put in the drawer for ages and a few of the solder joints got broken I also tried to mod it and some of the characters were not showing up All sorted now tho
I gave that jaLCDs program a go last night, seems pretty useful, shame its in German. But i cant seem to get the full screen stuff like the clock to work. Does this depend on the LCD or is it you have to set the program up correctly? ...
Bossman - I use JaLCD for powering my 4x20. A few basic things to check: > Your display is parallel (seems obvious I know) > Correct number of char is set (default is 2x20 I belive) > Correct port is selected ( for parallel displays should be 378) Other that that make sure you have the Port95.exe file installed (especially if your running XP!).
Looks nice, now get it mounted and post pics in the lcdgallery Haven't used a parallel alphanumeric for ages, but still remember my first
thanks just wondering i have noticed in my research(though my stupidity) that it is not hard to brake a lcd
