This Moderna booster has totally knocked me on my arse, painful arm, and flu symptoms, I knew I should have booked it for a workday and not the weekend
Relatable reasoning. Reminds me of that lady in Amelie, dragging herself round her job with a cold: "I'm saving my sick days for when I feel better!"
Welllll… myself and my partner haven’t had a jab yet. She was pregnant /‘d advised not to, she didn’t have the best pregnancy so I was asked to hold out if I could invade it made me ill. Anyway, tomorrow is the first day I can get my shot. I’ve been religious with the masks, hand sanitizer etc and touch wood I don’t think I’ve had it but I have been Ill a couple of times and there are kids here who lick windows and share drinks (because children are inherently thick) but we are all still here and the little one is approaching 10 weeks now so isn’t quite as useless and dependent. What flavour should I try and go for? Which is less likely to cause me illness? Infertility however would be a bonus. Three girls here now. I don’t want more….
Me, SWMBO, our daughter, and her lazy good for nothing boyfriend all sailed though with both doses of AZ with no problems, illnesses at all. One booster dose of Moderna Spikevax had put me on my arse for a week, if I didn't have work commitments / wasn't a pig headed stubborn man I'd have been in bed for the duration, mind ewe the wife had no bother with it.

And just to provide a conflicting opinion... Both the other half and I had AstraZenica. The first jab floored the pair of us for a couple of days. Paracetamol made it a little more bearable but I slept for about 18hrs and was having properly trippy fever dreams. The second jab did make us feel rough but nowhere near as bad. It's probably not possible to tell what sort of reaction you'll have to any of the vaccines. Best you can really do is make sure you're prepared to be unwell for a couple of days afterwards.
Basically whichever is in the syringe. Anecdotally most people seem to get a bit of a dead/painful arm and that's it from any of them. Worst I've heard of is feeling a bit flu-y and wiped out for a day or two (one was AZ, one was Moderna). Statistically the chances of anything serious are very low and don't vary much between vaccines.
Having used those on livestock I do not recommend trying them on yourself, I'm quite glad we no longer castrate animals on our new farm. I do realise the initial post was in jest.
I booked my booster for a week on Saturday it will be exactly 6 months since my 2nd dose, but i'm getting mixed information about the 3 months from the 2nd dose. If so i'm 49 can I just go to a drop in centre after work and get it early.
First AZ shot I was floored for 3 days Second AZ shot I was floored again for another 3 days Caught COVID and was ruined for best part of 8 days and still got a niggly cough 3 weeks later Not looking forward to any boosters in the slightest
First AZ buggered me with full body cramps and headache Second AZ didn't really notice Not had the mRNA booster yet
