    Hi Guys

I gonna be buying lots of sleeving and i was wondering is it better to buy braid, heatshrink and other things or just buy one of these tech flex kits for £19.99 they look like they have ALOT in them.

I just cant find any reviews though :( which is kinda annoying i need some before christmas.

    VisualAid-

    thanks for any help.

sleeving - just enough to do a psu and maybe some other short stuff
heatshrink - not nearly enough, but very high quality stuff...talking like 4:1 or maybe even 5:1 shrink ratio!

hope that helps, it takes roughly 20 feet to do a psu if it's your first time. I have been doing them for over 2 yrs now so I got it down to like the inch on each psu (sleeving and HS). It's scary, I could tell you exactly how many inches of heatshrink almost any model of psu takes :eeek: :hehe: :eeek:

I saw some wrapping at a computer store, but it was ridiculously expensive! 5$per feet! Do you guys know of a similar product that would do the same thing (a jobber). Like maybe something I can get at a local Wal-Mart or Home Hardware?

    Thanks guys.

i just bought a techflex kit to use on my project Solaris (take a look its on moddin.net: http://www.moddin.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1296&whichpage=8) i have a 450W QTEC as well, and i had enough braid to do that, 4 fan cables, 4 cathode cables, mobo button connector cables, basically everything in my case! and i have loads left over too! almost enough for another PSU. so yeah i reccomend the techflex option

    I've just done a q-tec.

    I bought:

2 meters Cable Braid Nylon 6mm
1 meter Cable Braid Nylon 15mm
    Heatshrink Black 12mm X 200mm length

    And

Heatshrink Black 20mm which I havent used yet - I'm not sure that I'll get it over the power connector....and it was out of stock when I did the rest - its only just arrived.

Cost £6.00 for the stuff, £2.50 delivery.

Did mine in prep for my new case that arrives next week, you can just make the thicker braid in the back ground. I removed all the molex connectors btw.

you'll have to email sales@ and ask them nicely. They are very efficient. They are there now, I’ve been in “conversation” with them this morning. If you buy it tonight they wont ship it ‘til Monday – pushing it!

getting the sleeve on is really easy. The bigger stuff for the power lead is really easy, just a couple of minutes, then I taped it with insulation tape.

The difficulty is taking the molex connectors off. Its just a pain in the butt more than anything else. Make sure you put them back on the right way round!

I used the wifes hairdryer for the shrink wrap.

Using a pin extractor for the molex's makes life much easier, i changed all the molexes inside my case today very quickly compared to doing it with twezers.
