Russian Invasion of Ukraine

We've registered to take in a Ukrainian family and my wife is fielding messages in broken English on whatapp and email.

I've spotted this pile of scrap metal, earlier today. If I were Chancellor Scholz, I'd be worried to read "To Berlin" on Russian attack helicopters.

PS: This one was shot down 2 weeks ago.

 

We spoke with two women with kids that are in Dnipro. Took a look at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-a-visa-under-the-ukraine-sponsorship-scheme and will probably have to do most of the applying on their behalf.

 

I doubt it would make it too many metres past the Polish border intact.

 

Although they let a drone all the way through to crash land in Croatia who then had a few stern words to say to NATO.

Why are so many feckwits in charge?

Meanwhile Putin uses supersonic missiles, no doubt for the purpose intended plus as a "hello, try and stop these NATO" message.

 

Well I have done two visa applications for a mother and child. There are some others coming too in the village. I hope all goes well.

Regarding my previous post, the picture was originally posted 4-5 years ago. Apparently, the Russians do this every year on Victory Day which is no less disturbing :-/

 

Next challenge will probably be to find someone to take a very nervous woman and here children to the UK VAC in Berlin from somewhere in Lower Saxony! but firm i will need to get through the forms.

The Kremlin say sometimes yellow is just yellow.

Except when there's blue trim, they appeared in navy pre-boarding and there's an invasion of Ukraine underway.

A terrible humanitarian catastrophe you say? In the very same war you started?

Maybe just maybe you should have thought that through...

 

They also said that any Ukrainian defenders captured would be subject to "military tribunals", whatever that might mean.

Excellent interview with a former Russian foreign minister. Well worth your time.

 

That is a great piece, a very honest interview.

 

I hope his way out will include a bullet or a cyanide pill or both.

 

No, he needs to be tried in court, then imprisoned for the rest of his life, not given an easy way out.

 

Our best realistic hope is a coup but the system in Russia makes it difficult.
