**** it, i think i'll go cinema alone tomorrow just to go see it. ive had to ban myself from pretty much all ace combat/wingman forums for fear of spoilers.
A Glitch in the Matrix (recommend/10) It's a documentary film about people who believe in simlation theory and the associated rise of this world view following the release of the matrix. It's increibly interesting and features stuff on Philip K Dick and Nick Bostrom (who proposed the theory). Super intesting, very dark at points and stylishly pieced together. Room 237 (recommend/10) The previous film from the same director as above, following conspiracy theorys surrounding Stanley Kubrick's The Shining. Definitely worth a watch!
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent - 8/10 Fun, over the top Cage, good acting Cage, and weird Cage all at once. Would recommend.
Currently sat in the 10am showing of maverick. It's just about to start. *Edit* Sodding tech problems with screen mean I now have free tickets to later showing. *Edit 2* holy ****ing **** that was amazing, im royally pisseds that i missed it on the big screens.
Stumbled across this whilst looking for something completely unrelated. A few decent-looking upcoming releases due out: NEW MOVIE TRAILERS 2022 - YouTube
Tom Cruise is lowkey one of my favourite actors these days (I don't care how mad-scientologist he is, it isn't any more relevant to his acting than my plumber's belief in ghosts is to his ability to fix my radiators). So I'll be getting on board the Top Gun train - just as soon as I get around to finally watching the original.
They went nuts for it. Puberty v2/10 Thoroughly recommended viewing. @boiled_elephant - you have one job in two parts this weekend.
Got Elysium on in the background. That exoskeleton bit is grim and Matt Damon doesn't overclock well. But GT-R!
I'm glad I'm not the only one. It came out the year I was born and I was raised in a conservative, religious household, so I never saw any R-rated movies until I was in my 20s. It's been on the list, but I just never got around to it. Anyway, I saw Maverick yesterday with a friend in the Regal 4DX theater with the motion seats, air blasts, wind, snow, smells, water. It was a pretty silly, fun affair. I highly recommend it as Maverick was the perfect movie for that.
For some strange reason I also found myself with Solomon Kane on in the background yesterday. And although nothing new, it was surprisingly entertaining. A 7.68/10
Catching up on a few Marvel releases so I'm not completely useless when I take the nephew for Thor next week. Spider-Man: No Way Home - meh/10 Let's call it a 6/10 for the sake of an actual rating. I think I'm finally over the MCU? There were so many moments (the lawyer, the memes) that would have normally had me hooting and cheering, but at best got a "aha!" or a chuckle out of me. Weird feeling, not gonna lie.
