    .-.-.-.-.-.

Similar situation to me, except with a pothole. Luckily there was a pretty advanced tyre fitters nearby and they managed to bend things back into shape, but this week the car's started making 'I will fall to bits at any moment' kind of noises. I had it checked out by a nice mechanic on the same estate where I work, and he's said it's safe (even though he totally understands why I was worried). If I were to hazard a guess, I think a damper has shat itself and the spring isn't being controlled upon returning to position. Fortunately it seems happy on stable surfaces and most of my driving is on main roads now.

Reminds me. Must write a letter to the council to see if I can get my £611 back. Though aforementioned mechanic said that when I have my MOT done, he'll probably end up rebuilding the left side.

Last night I just booked a holiday for next month to treat my parents as we've all not been able to go anywhere since 2019, then less than 12 hours after the flight & accommodation is booked my dad falls and ruptures his Achilles. :duh:

That's a harsh situation, I guess you just have to trust in the miracle of modern medicine and its two plus years of experience of dealing with covid patients.

Christ that's awful mate, I guess all you can do is wait and hope all works out.

There's nothing else you can do other than try and distract yourself from constant worry.

I hope to see you soon posting in the awesome thread when she recovers.

If you're gonna punch a wall in frustration... try to pick one that isn't stone...

That's about the only advice i can impart... somewhat speaking from experience...

This beautiful hardwood skirting and architrave...

Clashes with the rest of the decor in a way that it did not with the samples, almost a weird green tinge. Natural product, variations in colours yadda yadda.

So... I'm going to paint it. At least I'll know under that paint that it's top end stuff :duh:

I know you probably have to.

I know it's wrong, you know it's wrong and you'll be hating yourself as you do it.

I already do. Not least the fact that MDF would have done the same job (and come pre-primed to boot), and saved… just a smidge.

Small victories though - as expected the veneered doors that were already in place didn’t take the finish very well, so was going to replace them with solid ones. They’re getting painted as well, but graciously I hadn’t yet placed that order.

Why not try a light stain, so you can still see the grain?
