    I thought the trend for car makers was just just paint everything primer grey and if you wanted anything else though ****.

    I'm an older member too.

    What I really don't get, is the fashion for matt grey, often seen on BMW press cars. Doesn't look good, just looks like they forgot to paint it properly.

    Many years ago I had a red Citroen BX, it went the same way. Many hours of elbow grease with the T Cut, put that right.

    The dealer called at lunchtime, ostensibly to ask what colour & spec I wanted, now that such info is available.
    However, the real reason he called was to try and sell me paint protection & gap insurance.

    Most flats are a nightmare. If you have any flaws in the paint and try to sand or buff it out you will just polish it. Making it shiny. Meaning that over the years it will just look worse and worse and there's little you can do.

    It looks good on a show hot rod. BMWs? I totally agree, it looks shite.

    Harley market it as 'denim' paint, and that it should fade and change with time adding character to the finish just as a pair of old comfy jeans do.

    Our remortgage went through yesterday, just in time to avoid the rate hikes thankfully. Our current provider was shoving it up almost every week. Knocked £100 a month off just by moving it to co-op and getting a better rate. Mental!
