Green tinge? Is it tanalised timber? If so, it usually accepts a stain very well.

    I have spoken!

I did think long and hard about doubling down - but in doing so to match the doors to I'll need to replace three veneered doors with solid at as-near-as-matters a grand, never mind burning a lot of time, and with a chance to still not care for the results - because at this point its wing it and hope for the best.

On the other hand, when I painted one of the doors as a test, once I already knew they were done for under my previous plans, it looked really great. And the grain still came through, so at least I'd know there's some lovely wood under that paint on the skirting etc.

I've already primed the frames so we're past the point of no return.

It's tough to explain - tbh I can't even necessarily identify it as green, it just looks... Weird. Wrong. Bad. Maybe the warmth of the wood is just making it look wrong, in a way that a small sample did not. I have warm greys throughout though, so really didn't pick up on it even with quite a large sample.

Yesterday there was no change in my friends condition, and today her mom hasnt messaged me, so my anxiety is going into overdrive...
im not sleeping well, i barely have an appetite, i just feel sick, its bringing up to many memories of losing people in the past and im genuinely not sure if i can go through that again

in so many ways not knowing is worse than just being told there hasn't been a change

Feel for you,, it is the not knowing that can be the most stressful thing.

Hang in there mate, I hope you hear something soon and it's good news.

Try and look after yourself though dude, make yourself eat even if it's just soup or something.

You just need to hang in there, it must be horrible to be waiting for news, but it's outwith your influence.

    Stay strong.

Stay strong. I know it sounds stupid and impossible, but try doing something you normally enjoy to take your mind off it.

Small update without being an update
she was given anti-biotics and they didnt make a difference, second anti-biotics havent changed anything either... so she will be on her third anti-biotic in a couple of days, other than that there hasnt been any change in her condition

A close and long-term friend packed up and ****ed off to Australia...

would've been nice if he'd told anyone he was gonna do it... or was thinking about it...

...not exactly a spur of the moment decision.

The strange hot yellow thing in the sky is back. I am rapidly dissolving into a slightly tacky puddle of unidentifiable sweaty mess.

As trivial as it seems in light of the dystopian nightmare that is the world right now, it's the time of year when I first really notice the days getting shorter, and as irrational as it seems, it gets me seriously depressed, knowing that before long, here at the dizzy heights of 53.5 degrees, it will be dark by 16:30 :( Only a few weeks ago it was full daylight at 10pm. I know.... silly when put into a wider context, but there you are.

Aye I know that feeling, but overall I think I enjoy the changing daylight we get here in the UK, I think I'd miss the glorious highs of summer if I lived somewhere with more constant sunlight?

That and I've plans to sneak off for some wild camping and as it stands there is very little cover unless you fancy pitching up at 21:30 and leaving before 05:00 :hehe:
