It's so sad :( my buddy's doge passed away last week :(

RIP Shiloh :( His other dog sheddy got so depressed they had to take the poor guy to the vet. He was throwing up and just generally looking very sad.

It's a big part of the reason I have avoided getting any more pets.

Sorry to hear that, never easy to say goodbye to a pet. But those are some good innings for a cat!

Solicitor finally got the full medical report back, only 4 months overdue, so you'd expect it to be incredibly detailed having had so long to comb over the records. Yeh, no, it's a bit ****.
"Mr Makin says he was in extreme pain immediately after the operation, but there is no evidence to support this". You mean besides the oramorph? Or the Cyclizine and Ondansetron they had to give me because I was in so much pain after getting out of bed that I was going to be sick? Suppose they just give that out to anyone who's a little peckish do they.

Just keeps on saying that he finds in "inconceivable" that they would forget to put the mesh in.
It's inconceivable that surgeons would leave surgical equipment in patients, but it happens. And when they've not completed the post op checklist which includes accounting for all materials and instruments, what do they have to prove they definitely did!? Why are there no pictures from pre to post op as a record?

****ing eejit even says they would need to have a scan investigated by an expert radiologist to confirm the mesh hadn't migrated and then goes on to discuss a record from the pain specialist and actually mentions the radiologists report from the MRI they had done! Good Jesus titty ****ing grief!

Fortunately for me, he finds faults in the records from the second op where they haven't specifically mentioned locating and isolating the nerves, so they can't prove they did and might be cause for complaint, so the solicitor hasn't completely thrown it out, but also they've had me emailing them every 2 weeks, including sending instructions for the "medical expert" on what to look at, so they know there's a lot more to this and the report has conflicts within it also, so he's setting up a meeting to talk it through with them.

Just once, I would like a competent sane person to look at what is quite clearly a ****ed up situation and just ****ing deal with it.

Oh and I've acquired plantar fasciitis, so have been having to wear slippers. But they're a bit slippy on the hard flooring as it's constantly covered in dust from the kitchen floor which has had the tiles removed. And then last night I slipped and fell onto the sofa, but caught a blow off the arm to my ribs, which are definitely cracked.

Buried a cat tonight. Poor thing's mother got mastitis, but we caught it too late. Three days of round the clock feedings didn't do it. He was just too weak.

    Sleep well, Ducky.

    That's awfully sad

Not sure how many more dead cat stories I can hear, I just end up looking at my furball curled up each time and am reminded that she's getting on a bit now.

Not "ruining," as always, but annoying: I've had a NewDay Amazon-branded Mastercard for ages now. I get "reward points" on all purchases, and considerably more on purchases from Amazon - which is handy, 'cos we're always buying stuff from Amazon. Works out to about £20 a month in Amazon gift vouchers, and I always clear the balance so I've never paid a penny in fees or interest. Free money!

...which they're now turning off. Kinda. The Amazon partnership is ended, and I can replace the card with another that has a flat 0.25% cashback rate... capped at £150 a year. Although at that rate I'd be lucky to see a fiver a month.

Might as well just use my Lloyds card instead: that's 0.25% too, but with no annual limit - and it goes to 0.5% if you spend over £4,000 in a given year.

Just found out in a round-a-bout, 3rd hand way that i've been passed over for team leader/Product Owner of the team im the sole 100% resource in; for people who are not 100%, and have no knowledge of the programme within which the team sits, nor the product that we are trying to create.

Its not like i was sitting there quietly expecting something, i have been actively engaging management/higher leadership about taking on more responsibility/authority since i joined the team, and had been pretty much endorsed by the previous team lead prior to his departure, but now somehow its dead, and i will have not one but two people brought in above me.

Why do i continue to expect things to be different? Why the f*ck do i bother?

AFAIK it's also the hand gesture the youth use for a phone nowadays rather than thumb/finger to the ear/mouth.

Can't be true though, that'd be daft.

That's pretty normal these days. Why'd you think phones have speakers on the bottom?
