I prefer the term "artificial person," myself.

There are still a few active 2001 accounts, if I recall correctly.

Could have had gigabit, but figured I'd save a bit of cash. Big improvement on the VDSL at the old place - though everything's better than the bad old days of hoping my V.42bis modem would download the archive from a no-resume server before Freeserve kicked me off...

People who never experienced a 24h disconnect haven't been online really.

Nearly didn't get the second desk for the office, 'cos the delivery guy left it on the van... which would have been a problem, 'cos the first desk is still at the old office.

Got it now, though, all built. Desktop survived the journey from the old office, too, although the front fans went a bit nuts for a while. I need to replace those, really.

But, I'm now situated in the garden office - albeit with only one shelf-desk combo, my chair, and no other furniture yet - ready to start work on Monday. Oh, and the armoured CAT6 to the main building's working great - 2.5-gig-E sustained, no errors. Happy as Larry!

    EDIT:
Oh, and it looks crispy in the dark:

    upload_2022-11-27_16-25-47.png

...shame I'll basically never see it like that, 'cos you can only turn the outside lights on from the inside...

    Nice upload and latency.

That's what smart switches and motion sensors are for, get on it. :)

How'd you get on with the xt12s?

Nice and speedy, happy talking to each other via 2.5-gig-E, pretty easy setup, some weird defaults like having IPv6 disabled, tryhard sci-fi UI, some features are only accessible via the web interface and not the app, and they keep trying to convince me to sell my soul to Trend Micro.

Oh, and the stats bear no resemblance to reality - or Netflix has figured out how to stream Full HD video without using any bandwidth and my Blink doorbell really *is* secretly and invisibly wired.

Overall, pretty pleased. Would have been even more pleased at half the price, but what can you do?
