I am the luckiest man alive, not. So I lose well over 3.5 stones (now sub 16) and the winter has bitten me on the ass. I'm cold all the bloody time ! being fat has its positives you know.

So after buying a new duvet, new covers, new sheets and pillow cases I finally caved and bought more warm gear.

Curious as to how a tv/monitor arm keeps you warm.

You fix the TV to it first, then fit it to the wall ;) Max heat output with a side of perspiration!

Merrimac? Gawd knows. I had a look the other day and put in "highest average reviews" and those came up. Was going to leave it until I had some money (today) but they had a voucher on so cost me a tenner. They should be here soon I hope because I'm tired of having to put on socks and Vans every time I leave my room.

Rarely has something that seemed so good, proved to be shite so quickly!

Only been wearing them about 5 weeks. The memory foam insoles have Alzheimer's, gone completely flat and, they have become so loose, having been very snug when new, that they now don’t keep my feet warm at all. Will never buy Rockdove again…

I wouldn't worry, the company'll be back on Amazon selling the same thing as FISHSONNET in a week.

Sorry to hear that, it's what I hate about slippers.
I hope the Homeys I bought last month don't go the same way.
They were a recommendation on here

All memory foam does that in slippers mate. It's too much weight concentrated in too small a space for it to ever last.

That was why I got them. Tenner. TBH? if I have to replace them come Jan at least I only chucked a tenner in the bin....

I looked at those but, the ones I liked the look of, were not available in my size.

Hopefully you'll not be cursing my name in a couple of weeks!

The pair on my feet are now a year old. Yeah, the memory foam isn't what it once was, but it still has some bounce back, still comfortable and, importantly, still toasty warm.

    Thanks VB, that's reassuring.
I felt the warmth changing from my previous indoor shoes, most welcome at this time of the year!

The cure to all your problems is underfloor heating.

If you are able to fit it and have the money to do so as Shirty says!

My cousin is a builder and he's just finishing a small block of flats which only has 'wet' underfloor heating in all of the floors. Apparently it is much less energy intensive when you build it in and it's part of a well insulated setup.
I was surprised to hear that the flats are heated electrically with each flat using just a 6kW water heater for the loop, and it's tiny at 10cm x 10cm x 1m...

Better slippers are far, very far, more cost effective. Get new ones on the way. I will update when I see how good they are.

And the problem of not having anywhere between £25,000 and £50,000 to pay for the deposit and fees involved with buying a home.
