I like the front page, not sure about the navigation after that, I'd prefer a more traditional layout after that first page - the cartoon is perhaps a little big for ordinary pages?
The first line on the front page could do with more emphasis too.
The links in the navigation need some highlighting to show that they are indeed links, I mouseover'd and didn't notice that you'd actually linked them at first, thinking the site was unfinished. They also take up too much space.

I don't like the standard links being plain ordinary blue, do something with them.

The link to rosyln park college is broken.

Also, you don't spell commercial like that, and I thought it was "necessity is the mother of invention"... but whatever.

It isn't valid HTML4 either, and who doesn't use xhtml these days anyway  ;)

    Alaric.

Those who are too lazy or uneducated to do it themselves, and use a WYSIWYG program - which I did.

Your right about the link thing, it should have at the very least a hand or something.

I fixed the link and the spelling error(s) - those I could see anyway.

The "Continue" link is mixed in with the text:

Tested with Windows 2000 - Large system fonts, IE 6.0, Opera 7.11 & Netscape 4.11

Wouldn't happen if you used tables. :D

I agree with the previous comments, the links aren't very apparent and the image is too big. Lastly, did you draw the cartoon? It's signed and it will be copyrighted. :worried:

I knew something like that would happen.

Guess I'll have to give in and code it by hand - Visual Studio seems to be more of a hinderance than a help.

Its more of a personal website than a commersial one. I doubt there would be any copyright issues, I guess I could track down the artist, but as its personal, is there really any point?

Well, unless it's hosted on a server accessible by you alone, there's no such thing as a personal web site, being that it's visible to anyone with an internet connection.

Cartoonists sometimes go to great lengths to protect their work, also anything hand drawn is very readily identified, especially when the signiture is visible. :D

'guess thats *another* design out the window then. :sigh:

(though, technically, by making their work public on the internet is counter-productive copyrightwise - considering it becomes public property)

The image may be copyrighted, but the concept/joke isn't, how are you with a pencil?

hmm... now thats an idea. I'm not great, but then again, I'm not awful (precisely the sort of ratio I was looking for).

I might give it a go myself as soon as I can pry my sister away from her pencil case (what is it with girls and pencil cases? they treat them like jewelry   ).

    Thanks for the idea.

You're welcome to use it, but perhaps crop it and make it a bit smaller:

I actually like it the other way more - gives it a sort of 'artistic' feel to the 'site.

OK, try it like this, so that it looks as though it's drawn directly on the page.

I dont know why, but I like the original better.

The 'just sketched' look seems to work very well. It might just be me though :p
